What Laidley said in his press conference after our meeting early this season  , should add some spice to what hopefully will be a cracker of a game.

Something along the lines of 'The AFC cant play any better than that' after we beat them earlier this year.

Reakon they should stick that lil quote all over the AFC rooms before Sundays game ;)

As I recall it, we played pretty poorly that day and the only thing that stopped us being beaten was the quality of the opposition. Hopefully we will play well this week, win by 10 goals and prove to Laidley just how stupid and childish his comments were.

Superstitious DT?

I'd feel a lot easier reading this thread after the four points were in our keeping.

1998 aside, North have a habit of ruining our stuff when we least expect it.

The Round 21 debacle in 2003 when we hoisted the white flag on not only second place but ultimately our season still burns in the memory.

Doubt if Goodwin will play but you never know.

He almost certainly will IMHO. At all breaks on Sunday he was warming up on the ground which makes me think if we needed him he would of come on.

Lets just look forward for someone with a big mouth like Rhett Biglands to grab the after match microphone and say "Dean Laidley you were wrong!"

Yep, Goody looked fine at the breaks running around with Schwerdt. If it was a significant injury, he would have gone to the rooms.

In the press conference after the game, someone quoted that to Neil Craig, and he agreed with it. (In term's of effort and attack on the ball I think).

Hopefully we can display maximal effort again, and show a big improvement in skills and decision making this time. (And Thwack the Roos).

If memory serves me, Laidley not only said that we couldn't play better, he went on to say that the Kangas had lots of improvement in them. It was one of the worst whinges I've heard at an after-match press conference. Fair made Chocko seem benign.
I hope we thump 'em, but it is an away game and they are a good side.
Think I'll tip with the heart and not the head this week. Winning is soooooo good.
