Something is on the nose...and it's Collingwood

The question I asked was a rhetorical question. It's pretty obvious that he has been terrible for Melbourne. Anyone that saw it as an actual question is obviously living in La La Land.

I'm not sure if you are aware, but the NT game was allocated by the AFL to Melbourne, they got no revenue for it. The AFL, Gold Coast, and the NT have done a deal to set up NT as a zone for Gold Coast to get priority players from. Pert didn't get Melbourne out of the NT, the AFL replaced the Melbourne game with GCS to help GCS out. After trying to make the best of a sh*t situation for years the AFL just pulled the rug out from underneath MFC. The way that Melbourne tried to spin it was embarrassing.

In two years Melbourne have added a fitness bloke and an assistant coach. Amazing. That's the best you can do?

Melbourne did make finals in Perts first year - he joined in June. You seriously attributing that success to him???? And nearly making finals 2 years after making finals, and an abysmal season in between, is hardly something to hang your hat on.

And Goodwin being under the pump this year - he has 2 years left!!! On big money!!! He has a history of poor decision making - Gambling, Violence, PED's. He had been repeatedly out-coached over several years, and shown no ability to adapt or be innovative as a coach. He should be unemployable, but Pert gave him an extension!???? F@$k me.

I think I'm normally pretty balanced and open to other opinions, but I don't think I have ever encountered someone as delusional as you. You're like one of those poverty-stricken redneck Trump supporters that are campaigning to get rid of healthcare and education.

Can you take this rubbish to the Melbourne board please. We are here to enjoy Collingwood’s misery, not wallow in our own.

Ive had 3 or 4 goes at writing this post but I can’t quite sum up in words how genuinely pathetic this is from Collingwood.

My heart honestly breaks for Treloar, and Stephenson to a lesser extent. The poor bastard must be feeling like shit the way he has been treated, and the shitty reasons he has been given. Hope he tears Collingwood apart next year.

The pity party for these guys is a bit extreme. If they truly wanted to stick it up the Club they could refuse to be traded for a year.

Stephenson loose cannon and is clearly not the sharpest tool.

Treloar is the big one and is strange. He is still one of their better players but they must have figured he would have best trade currency. They just screwed up his exit.

Treloar has battled some mental demons recently, and be turfed for the given reasons around his missus moving, and to be told he would be coming back to a “hostile” environment by his coach. I’d imagine he’d be feeling pretty shit about it all. So I think a bit of empathy for the bloke is pretty natural tbh.

I think if the Pies were just honest, it'd be easier to accept. Clubs fu** up. Bad contracts are regrettable.

But then to hide behind lies and accuse the media of lying, only for it to seem as though McClure was getting his news direct from Treloar, all while the Pies did their best Iraqi impersonation

Looks like Donald Trump. Acts the same...lol.

Non-Collingwood supporters are far more aggrieved and up in arms about this than actual Collingwood supporters are. Why?

Because you guys are blinded by your faith and are hypocrites when it comes to the supposed "side by side" mantra?

I guess "side by side we stick together to uphold the magpie name unless you have mental health issues, your wife is moving away, or are costing too much money despite what we agreed to" is a bit tough to fit into a song and a mantra.

Will Collingwood members rise up and hold the club bosses to account? Might have to given the emotions arising from them so far.
Things will probably start happening in the coming weeks and months.

AGM is in February (or usually is based on previous years), and I've heard some people are preparing an opposition ticket.

A petition by disgruntled Collingwood members is circulating demanding an urgent meeting be called so those in charge can explain themselves.

For those talking about the 'delusional' Collingwood fanbase - understand that the random dipsh*ts online and some accounts that are almost certainly associated with the club's PR department are not representative of the non-online fanbase. Yes, there unfortunately is a rusted-on idiotic part of the fanbase, but it's not even close to the majority right now.

Every single pies fans I have spoken to in the real world, and that's been a fairly decent sample size, is absolutely furious. There's not much affinity for Bucks and Eddie to put it mildly.

And the whole 'if the fanbase isn't delusional why haven't you sacked Bucks and Eddie?' thing is extremely disingenuous. We were in a GF two years ago, then a prelim, and won a final this year. Our off-field performance has been very strong. Until this week, there were lots of problems but no emergency. You're the delusional one if you think it's easy to just oust a President and coach through popular revolt under these circumstances - clubs usually need to be in an on-field or off-field crisis for something like that to gain momentum.

The problem is how much control Eddie has over the club, and yes, within that part of the problem is some delusion in the fanbase. But as our American friends are teaching us, even if a fat racist d*ckhead loses popular support, it still might not be that easy to get rid of him if he doesn't want to go.

Weird how when this happens to Collingwood everyone is interested. If this situation happened at any other club, doubt anyone would care, I personally don't think about other clubs situations at all.

Really? I remember everyone giving a shit about Adelaide’s pre season camp, and Essendon’s supplements.

I'm not sure you get what the main board of a forum dedicated to AFL is about then.

Also, you're wrong.

Google Adelaide Crows camp, Adelaide Crows trade, Adelaide Crows free agency, Mark Ricciuto and you find dozens of articles about the camp, potential winless seasons, disgruntled players, poor list management etc.

You can choose to care or not. I'm not renting out space for other clubs situations in my head.

A quick look through your post history and you do seem to comment on other clubs.

And same with the Crows camp, the North mass delistings (this year) and mass retirements (2016) etc.

You're not special.
richmonds various internal issues before we got our shit together, richmond in this years hubs, north melbourne chicken gate, just carlton generally, essendrugs, essendon vs the bowls club, the west coke eagles, port adelaides tarps, brisbanes multi year player exodus, cola, the list goes on.

Hard to express why.

Its like 4 of your semi-mates down the road being shat on in the most horrendous way.

And as fellow human being, standing up and saying this ain't right, someone needs to pay for this.

Doesn't concern me if opposition supporters are interested in our affairs.

I paid close attention to:
  • Carlton's salary cap issues and Mick Malthouse's tenure.
  • Essendon's drug saga.
  • Richmond having off-field issues for years and an opposition ticket emerging at the end of 2016.
  • Adelaide's infamous camp.
  • Western Bulldogs losing their captain and coach simultaneously in 2014.
  • West Coast's downfall post-2006, especially with the situation involving Ben Cousins.
We're just the latest club that is in the limelight, but we won't be the last. It's part and parcel of football.
