CrowdedHouse has good sources

CLASSY winger Sophie Van De Heuvel has informed Geelong that she will leave the club via expansion this off season.

Van De Heuvel was taken with draft pick No.2 ahead of Geelong's inaugural season in 2019 and has played 31 games across four seasons.

Womens.afl understands that Van De Heuvel will reunite with former Geelong AFLW assistant coach and VFLW head coach Natalie Wood at Essendon.

Van De Heuvel, a lifelong Essendon supporter, arrives at the NEC Hangar after 31 games for Geelong, where she made her mark as a versatile half-back.

Hailing from Ballarat in regional Victoria, the talented all-rounder also played cricket at the national level before transitioning to footy.

A life long Essendon fan but haven't seen any photos of her as a kid in Essendon gear yet 🤔

Apparently originally a dual sport athlete when she was drafted by Geelong, played at the national level in both cricket and footy as a junior. All-rounder in cricket, and a half-forward when she plays footy. Wonder if she'd be able to bowl Merrett out 🤔 Should be a cut above the local league bowlers he batted against an off-season or two ago.

My Girl for this season.
Has started well. Playing mainly half back.
Round 1 - 17 disposals - 4 marks - 4 tackles - 7 intercept possession
Round 2 - 17 disposals - 8 marks - 1 tackle - 6 intercept possessions .

Hard day at the office his week. Crows had plenty of fast footy coming into the forward half and the defenders felt the heat.
10 disposals.
3 marks.
1 tackle .
2 intercept possessions.
1 inside 50.
