Both pain in different ways. But for sheer hurt, you can't go past 2002. It was so close yet so far.
2002 I was heartbroken bur proud, 2003 I was just p*ssed off and bitterly disappointed.

you cant say you didnt feel a thing.....FIGJAM said:I didn't feel a thing in 2003. Got smashed after half time!
I think you could say the same about '03; we were the equal or better of anybody that year - except the Lions, who we've always struggled against.Coin_Toss said:2003. Far more disappointing, because we got blown out of the water.
Our efforts in the 2002 GF were excellent, but it's a shame that we had to come up against the Brisbane Lions. Any other club and we would have won probably.
I agree, after half-time for the first time i was just switching between channels during a Collingwood match, '02 was more painful, not because we got so close, but because the umpiring didn't go our way. I remember hearing the commentators comment about Collingwood's tackling Collingwood's tackling Collingwood's tackling, non stop, its hard to say who deserved it more in '02 but I saw 1-2 Collingwood players show some of that '90 spirit, that fight that i've never seen as a Collingwood supporter. '03 was just disappointing because skills weren't anywhere near as good as '02 and the funny thing is '03 was dry and '02 was wet.FIGJAM said:I didn't feel a thing in 2003.
