No, that was the warning shot of expectations. The modern AFL has since that time suspended multiple players for vilification comments. So if a player is that stupid, that selfish to damage a clubs finals campaign then they deserve a very harsh punishment. But as some have said, we dont know the true comments, the context, or even if what was thought to be said was actually said. Lots of water to go under the bridge. But if it all turns out to be correct, then a very harsh punishment is needed to send a message that not only does the club not support such comments, but the playing group and fans have been let down on the verge of a long awaited finals appearance.

Obviously my suspension idea was exaggerated for point.
