I don't agree that there are plenty of holes in the side. There's really one glaring hole and it's more more a grade midfielder, I don't see that much more that needs resolving.

The mentality we took into both finals matches was awful. We got smashed in contested possessions on Friday, that's not a talent thing.
ROB is a massive issue - but we've committed to him. If I look at Brisbane, we line up very well with them. An underrated back-line that get's the job done, and a young, talented forward line that can be destructive on their day. They don't have a commanding ruckman. Their options in the middle are far greater than ours and what stands out most is that they got Neale and Dunkley to move north - two top 20 players in the league. I doubt we can get that done, with Nicks in charge, no matter how much money we have available.

Petracca is good mates with ANB and credits Burgess for his career best seasons

He’s also managed by Eddie Betts wife who obviously has an association with the AFC
Not a fond one I don’t think.

If he refuses to play SANFL, then he’ll have to retire. Sad, my preference was him going out with the crowd and players knowing. I really don’t like the idea that his career is concluded without the pomp and ceremony.
He had pomp and ceremony for his 300th. Maybe that was enough?

Agreed. Oliver is a much more appealing option at 18 months younger. I just don't see either of them coming to SA though. I can't think of a high-profile Melbourne based player, without a strong connection to SA, who we have convinced to move this century.
the seed was the closest. but not what youd call high profile.

Eddie said 'our forward line' when he was covering the Crows on Fox a few weeks ago. I don't think he's holding any grudges at least.
Eddie and his wife has said that overall they loved their time in Adelaide and would be happy for there kids to be Adelaide father / son selections

Trac would be huge. Just his leadership alone.
Hmmm i dunno about leadership, bit like Zac Merrett. Good leaders don't sign massive contracts and want to walk out soon after.... they want to help fix it.

Merrett being slightly different in that hes tried for long enough.

As a player though, hes precisely what we need. Im slightly concerned about age, and what that injury did to him.

Most if not all of the people behind the things that they didnt like are no longer there either. Which helps.

Yeah the people at the club that the Betts family had issues with are long gone.

Taylor is a pretty smart individual when it comes to footy and I would expect someone of his caliber to recognize the needs of the team and his capabilities. No one is denying he cant contribute, but the facts he surely would be aware of is that he is finding it harder and harder to compete against the games best defenses.

If he goes around again, Its for selfish reasons and if the club allows this its because they are scared of any PR fall out if Tex made it known he wanted to continue.

If leaving Melbourne we are actually a great fit

  • Burgess
  • Attracts a big salary for himself
  • He’s coming to a team in the window
  • Adelaide would actually appeal to his On Trac5 … Gather round , LIV Golf , Barossa wine and produce , SA Seafood all suit his brand , add the fact #5 will be available means no rebranding
Wait until Malimaskus offers him a SA brand ambassador role*

Petracca news?
A year later and things have changed, according to Nine’s Tom Morris, with Petracca now willing to join a contending club like Adelaide, Gold Coast or Sydney.
