2nds Split Round - FFC Hypothetical

Hi all,

This is the first thread I have ever started, so mods please feel free to delete if it doesn't meet the usual lofty standards of our clubs BF thread quality.

I have a hypothetical scenario relating to our alignment with Peel and having a split round for round 1.

It's early in the season and I am certain RTD is keen to get minutes into the players legs. Could we place the entire 1st team players from last night straight into next weeks Peels league team? Players not in our best 22 would play in Peel ressies, and non-afl listed peel players would make up the remaining ressie numbers.

The sh*t fight would be interesting, but I think it's a valid point to be raised.

nup, we opened kick ass last night when we needed to.
The losses in the pre-season, the I didn't have enough training because of the grand final was a diversionary tactic.
Ross may play a couple if he thinks they are underdone.

I don't think the afl allow this, pretty sure in the past you have to seek permission on these split weeks. Also it's a stupid idea, let the boys recover and have a math sim next fri-sat before the Gold Coast match.

Yeah it's verboten for any player who played the week before to line up in the ressies during bye weeks.

And given how half-heartedly we approached the preseason games I doubt the Boss would want to risk injuries in a meaningless game anyway.

Its not exactly a bye week though.
Its AFL's stupid idea of starting the season with a split round.

The bye weeks come later in the season and the bye = missing a round of football.

So next week is still round 1 so not an actual bye round.

Even so we wouldn't risk it.

I think it's pretty obvious that Ross's comments about us being underdone because of the shorter break are just the excuses he needed to treat the preseason games with the lack of respect they deserve.

He can't come out and say "we just didn't try that hard because preseason games are irrelevant" because that would really piss of Vlad. So he just made up whatever crap he could to justify it.
