Interesting to see Grimesy in the mix, would like him to play only if he's 100% ready.

Also no Spencer, must mean Johnson is going it alone or Martin and/or Newton will be backing him up, just great that we are going up against the best ruckman in the game with barely 1 ruckman.

:(

Jones is in. he had a very good game on sunday. i don't think Maric should be dropped on one bad game. i would love to see Grimes in the side and it was a toss up between Cheney and Bennell but since Cheney is in my dream team i have him over Bennell

Don't play Grimes if he's not 100%. I think Jetta's a shoe-in for a spot.

It'll be interesting to see who tags Kerr & Wirrapanda, I think they're both danger players who'll have a day out if we don't man them both. McDonald should deal with Kerr in the midfield, Bruce maybe on Wirrpanda in the backline.

Martin should take Kennedy, but if Martin has to ruck then send Rivers on him. Warnock on McKinley, Frawley on Lynch, & Bartram on LeCras. Try & pawn Miller off on Glass so Robertson can run wild & free. Stick Davey on halfback so we have some run out of defense, & kick to a contest in the forward fifty so we can actually crumb some packs. Can't begin to explain how frustrating that has been this season; we don't crumb!

I really hope they know what they are doing here. Given our situation, the fact Spencer is not in the best of form is not pertinent here. Some times you just have to go with what you have. If we cop an injury with one of our other players as a backup ruckman (or even PJ himself with the load) then questions should be asked. Spencer is a fit and firing youngster who needs all the experience he can get and even if he gets belted he would still at least be sharing the load. Unless he is injured this is a mistake IMO.

Warnock - Lynch

Frawley - McKinley

Petterd to LeCras?
Ideally I think they would like to play Frawley on LeCras, he has been getting the job on the most dangerous small and doing it well. But with Martin needing to go into the ruck I'd go:

Martin moves to a ruck/forward position, it detracts a bit from his development but that shouldn't bother him too much. Get him back as a defender soon.

Rivers and Frawley move up the order as tall defenders. Grimes comes in on a back flank. Petterd or Bruce have to play on LeCras.

I like Jetta and Cheney, and can't write Newton off completely just yet. But I really want to see Grimes play, so if he's fit we should play him.

Whether they go Jetta or Maric doesn't really bother me. Probably leaning toward Maric at this stage. I wouldn't see a need to play both of them.

I don't know if Spencer is fit though, he missed last week at Casey because of a calf strain I think it was. I'd say he would have been picked if he was fit regardless of form seeing as he would have been the only ruckman we could have picked.

i think it's pretty obvious that Bailey has Cox as his DT captain this week.

having said that i don't think it will matter that much if Spence is there rucking with Johnson. Cox will still dominate the hit outs and chop us up around the ground

yeah i thought I read somewher he wasn't fit. Grimes will play, 2 games at Casey now? No reason to not play him. Maric was very disappointing last week, I would understand if he was dropped. Jetta named hints he might go. I wonder if Baileys just gonna make Johnson tag Cox, I'd love to see it. God knows he needs some accountability.

Frawley to do a number on Le Cras, who is a gun.

Yeah, I think it stands to reason that he is inhibited in some way there is no other reason for him not to play. We are just the walking wounded at the minute.:(

Warnock - Lynch

Frawley - McKinley

Petterd to LeCras?
Lynch rarely plays deep in the forward line anymore.

Normally up the ground and is being used as a back-up ruck to Cox this year.

Coxys disposals by foot have been way off in the last four weeks, so he might not hurt you as much as you think he will.:(

Good luck, hope its a good game and no injuries. (You guys have been hammered again with injuries this year, poor buggers.)

I can't understand why Spencer isn't in, Johnson isn't good enough to do it on his own plus he's against the No.1 ruckman in the league. :thumbsd:

He was a late withdrawal from the team sheet a few weeks ago due to a foot injury sustained at a Thursday night training, he hasn't played a game since then, but no word has come out about it.
Problem is the MFC are not really on the ball when it comes to reporting injuries to 'lesser' players...

How i would like to line up a small (Grimes) for a tall (Messen), its a bigger ground subi so we need plenty of run. We have plenty of talls down back, Rivers was even matchin up on Byrnes and Rooke last week (in the first half). Martin to help Johnson out in the ruck and rest up forward and our forward line looks a little more dangerous.

Hey guys - didn't want to create a thread as it's annoying when opopsition supporters do that - but did anyone see 20 to 1 last night (I looked for this in other threads but came up short).

Reason I'm asking is because how come Russell Robertson the 'Ex-AFL Footballer' per the show is lining up this weekend. Surely your team sheet is wrong as Bert's show must be right! ROFL. He is going to cop that at training for weeks!

It happens every 2 weeks that he is on the show, Channel 9 are idiots. He is definantly not an ex-footballer.

They've had that since last year. The fact they haven't changed it just represents how unprofessional channel 9 are.

As for our team I've realised that as Lynch is the back up ruck Stef Martin can stay with him the whole game.

Warnock - McKinley
Rivers - Kennedy
Frawley - LeCras

But I want to see Bruce out of the backline and back in the middle, with his running capacity he should play well at Subi. That means we need another defender to complement Bennell and Bartram - and it may as well be Grimes.

You then leave a 3 players for one spot contest with Jetta, Maric and Newton. With Robbo, Miller, Bate and hopefully Dunn in the forward line we look tall enough, so that rules out Juice. In a toss of a coin I'm happy to stick with Maric.

Lol - ok that explains why there were no recent threads on it.

I knew he was still playing hence the post - def tongue in cheek. 3 goals in his return last week was pretty good considering the opposition.

Best of luck this week guys! Got a bit of a soft spot for you blokes - a few mates go for ya's and I read Demonblog religiously. Seems to be on the money that bloke alot!

Where is young McNamara? He's been in some fine form for Casey. Surely he's got to get a go sometime this year. Is a gun player.
