That will be a huge issue/talking point later in the year I rekon.
Maybe they could use the scoreboard to put the opposition players off, give them a seizure while they're lining up for goal or something.
But yeah, that seems a bit silly having it right behind the goals.

If they do change it to the scoreboard when lining up for goal, it could be easier to pick out a stationary point to aim for behind the goals, compared to other stadiums with a crowd behind it...

At first i was critical of the positioning of the big screen (see earlier post)... after tonights game im not sure its that bad at all. The pictures dont do it justice, its much higher than i expected... though im sure we will hear about it in the papers (if it is a problem) soon enough.

i think the biggest problem with that screen is - from a distance it looks like its got BOO written all across it, lol. hardly encouraging for the players

The only one who got close to kicking it was Pods from Geelong.
He actually did kick the ball into it, but missed the screen and hit the board on the side. Hit the BOQ signs.

Loved the stadium, nice open concourses, huge scoreboard, plenty of food, good viewing, goot atmos etc..
However, whoever was running the scoreboard should be looking at a new job....
I had a good time, just some tweaking needs to be done for the next match!

I'm actually a little disappointed with the scoreboard. Now, the HD vision is clear from Mars, no question....but as stated, there is little else stat wise etc...could we remove at least 80% of the BOQ logos and use the left & right sides of the actual screen for some sort of scrolling stats for both sides....as it stands, its a huge massive TV screen but with wasted space either side of it....could be so much more for the total footy enthusiast....
overall the stadium is very very sexy. Can't wait for Port to play there sometime next year

The stadium is awesome and the atmospere was electric. The sea of red with all the flags waving was just fantastic.
The best part for me was that the crowd was well educated in AFL and knew their stuff (not a bunch of NRL hicks as some south of the border would have you believe) and the sound of us all screaming BALLLLL was deafening.
