those last two games are amazingly similar. are there any other similarities between those games?

Hi guys.
Apologies if this has been asked before. The search didn't come up with what I wanted.

Has someone got a list of all B&F winners for the premiers? I've always thought that was the absolute pinnacle of a season you could get. (OK - if you have the Brownlow and Norm Smith as well, that WOULD be the top).
I could trawl through the archives a get it myself (take a few hours) - but I was hoping someone may have those details in the database.

NB In some of the early years the award either didn't exist, or the winners have been lost in the mists of time.

Although Jack Dyer Snr is credited by the club with the 1932 award, research conducted by two members of the historical committee have failed to bring up any written evidence prior to 1988 of any Richmond player winning that award in 1932.
It is my belief no one won that award. However it should be noted the club does recognise him as the recipient.

Thanks Rhett, interesting.

My list of b&f winners comes from the AFL Record Season Guide, which I take to be the "official" list. Recent editions have seen a few blanks filled in from the early VFL period.

When was the last year, if ever, that the final 8 (or whatever system was in use) remained the same in consecutive seasons? And what was the longest period that the same teams competed in finals in consecutive years without another team surpassing any of them?

The last time was 1973, the top only five to repeat. 1904-06 & 1909-1911 a threepeat for the top four.

1898-1901 was a fourpeat, depending on how the fixturing of the day is interpreted. Much brow furrowing trying to get my head around R3,1900 actually being last of the home away rounds.

woah wtf happened in '72?

Carlton draw with Richmond 61 apiece

Next week they lose 69 - 110
Then prelim final Carlton beat Saints 109 - 93
Then in the grand final they beat Richmond 177 - 150 !!!

Cheers Ron
Actually, in my opinion, quite a lot of the early Best and Fairest recipients listed with Richmond are incorrect. But at the moment, you have to go with the official list provided by the League and the club.

The largest goal total by any team in which each player scored at least two goals I have found so far is 22 by South Melbourne. They scored 22.14 versus Essendon in round 14, 1934. The goal scorers were Bob Pratt 11, Laurie Nash 7 and Peter Reville 4.

Not sure if this is the right thread to ask this but does anyone know where there's a 2014 AFL Season Ladder Predictor?
I imagine there will be in time, but it probably won't go up for a little while yet.

Devastating I know- breaking out the ladder predictor and predicting 22-0 and a percentage of 300% for your side every pre-season is always a bunch of fun.

I predict there will be a ladder in 2014.

Well played Paul well played. :thumbsu:.

Isn't there a Collingwood fan with loads of them on Excel?

Wasn't there another one you had to download?

Can anybody confirm that the two NAB Cup challenge matches scheduled for 2014 are going to be part of the official AFL history relating to night series/pre-season games?
