It seems like our season is coming to an end at the right time for a lot of players. As much as we would have loved to play finals, it's clear that our f**kload of injuries is taking it's toll on the playing group that remain. At least for all but one man... Steele Sidebottom.

It's not a word you throw around a lot in footy but I can genuinely say that I'm extremely proud of the way he has gone about it in the last month with other key players falling around him. On ya Steele! Let's hope you can continue this on next year!

I've been harsh on him in the past. I even threw his name up as a possible trade option with value in KM's almanac thread.

I was wrong Steele. You're a f##king gem. Don't ever change, don't ever leave.
 
Damn, I wish you guys didn't notice so we could trade him over to the Dee's. Always loved him and doesn't get enough respect from Collingwood fans a lot of the time.
 
I thought he played well but his performance was overrated. Just kept on hacking it forward.
 
Has taken the next step. Looking forward to a massive 2015.
 
I have been critical of him this season but my god has he changed it around the last 5-6 games. He was outstanding tonight!

Bring this form in 2015 Steele because we will need it.

Sidebottom is an absolute champ but has become a leader for the club which he needed to do given his age. Beams needs to do the same because he's old enough and has been looked after by the club. Forget being Mr Cool, go hard at it.
 
Yep, Spice nailed it. He's taken on a leadership role in the last part of this season and has demonstrated great discipline and consistency during that time. Can't believe the amount of shit he cops around here.

Taken in the same draft as beams, who showed his class in the last 3 years, including a copeland.

Sidey has drifted along til this year. A brilliant finals series in 2010 buying a lot of credits.

Thankfully has begun banking credits again, cos he was heading out.

Fingers crossed he can match beams in 2015. That would be handy.
 
Will finish in the top 3 of our best and fairest two years in a row. In a few short years has shown he plays well in big games, great 2010 finals series and two really good years in a row.

In his early 20's and is a gun. Seventeen other teams would have him in a heartbeat.

Very little choice but to hack it forward, Mike. If you were getting your hands on the pill, looking up and seeing half arsed or no leads at all, you'd hack it forward too. He was one of the few shining lights.

Always loved his work ethic, true gut runner. Want him to take a few of our younger players under his wing ( ie what ben johnson did for swan ) and get them fit, broomhead, kennedy, fasolo, seedsman

I know sidebottom is a young man himself but he has true leadership qualities and a work ethic second to none at the club. Leads by example
 
Could he win the Copeland? Seriously I know Pendles is odds on to win it but Steele's year has been brilliant really, he went from being a decent footballer to now being an important midfielder and our second best leader.

His form since the suspension is the best of his career.

He has become very dependable. Looks like he'll play forever so that's a great thing!
