Maybe Derek Zoolander hijacked the plane to kill the Malaysian Prime Minister('s credibility)

That right there is an eerie image

"We managed to tie it to our boat as we feared it would sink due to the damages," he said. When the MMEA boat arrived, the fishermen then handed over the raft into their custody. However, a Kuala Linggi MMEA spokesman said the raft sunk into the sea while they were trying to bring the raft onboard.

from the previous link posted.......o_O. If that raft was indeed from the plane then that was the first sighting of anything and they let it sink to the bottom. Without a doubt the local government is keeping something sinister from the public

This is more than a simple mechanical failure.

I think it's pretty clear by now that everybody on board has died.

Rest in peace.

It's always a sad day when over 200 people die on one airplane. I understand the economics of putting so many people on one plane but the loss of life really hits hard.

It seems like the 777 is a plane with many flaws and they will only come to light now this has happened.

I myself like flying on those old 747s, they might shake and rattle but I feel very safe because I know that no matter how old they are the design is very well proven and they can handle all the beating they take. The noise of the metal creaking is good, just the right amount of give :)

Doesn't make sense.

Even if it were to deflate surely it would still float.
It's dead weight. They're not the kind of thing you find at the public pool, they're huge.

Well it's a small fishing village, one that probably doesn't even have a massive investment in this story. Who knows the kind of heavy lifting they have at hand, the fisherman thought it would sink the boat.

It was probably better than there boat so they made up some shit about it sinking and now the life raft is there main fishing boat :D

Shoulda kept reading :p. link says it says Boarding.

If you think they are telling us everything they know, and aren't hiding anything you are clueless. Just because they asked the public for help doesn't mean shit.

Edit: This will be my last response to you. If you want to continue this conversation you can PM me, this isn't the thread to do it in.
Why, you are making the same level of contribution either way?

Also, I have stated many times I don't think they are telling us everything. But what I think they are keeping secret, is largely evidence of incompetence.

Relax! Don't do it!

I think it is more likely that Malaysia are just really abysmally incompetent rather than hiding something, but not by a huge margin.

Certainly this will go down as the absolute textbook example of how not to manage a rolling media crisis.

Definitely looks similar to the Boeing logo, not exactly the same though.

747 has been involved in 126 accidents or incidents, resulting in 2,861 fatalities.

As far as records, the 747 has the dubious distinction of 3 separate record death tolls: the highest death toll of any single aviation accident ever (520), the highest death toll of any single airplane accident (583), the highest death toll of a mid-air collision (349).

Surely the airline would know if it looks like one of their life rafts.

If I'm not mistaken, 747s are also the most common commercial jet. Would be interested to see those numbers adjusted if they were all measured as a percentage as opposed to a raw statistic.

Chinese criticism of the Malaysian authorities appears to be getting more trenchant.

An opinion piece in the Global Times said conflicting statements issued by officials in Kuala Lumpur appeared to be “chaotic”, and asked whether Malaysia was “deliberately” concealing information. It urged the authorities to share more information with China.

India has confirmed that Malaysia has asked for its help as the search for the missing planes expands towards the west.

Ministry of External Affairs spokesman Syed Akbaruddin said India had appointed an official to liaise with the Malaysian authorities, according to AP.

“This is a new development,” Akbaruddin said, referring to the search extending to the Andaman Sea, north of the Strait of Malacca. “The two sides were working out what specifics they want, and what we can assist in.”
