These press conferences are way too short and should be held for one hour, twice daily.

It's almost like they can't wait to leave and don't want to be there either.

Hey, sorry? How does anyone know what the pilot said?

"Alright, good night" - last words from missing plane

The last words from the missing Malaysia Airlines flight 370 were “Alright, good night”, according to Malaysian government officials at a meeting with relatives of passengers in Beijing. The Straits Times was at the meeting and reported on how it unfolded:

“Alright, good night” were the last heard words from the missing Malaysian Airlines (MAS) flight MH370 - which were revealed for the first time at a meeting in Beijing on Wednesday morning between the Malaysian government and Chinese relatives.

The flight then disappeared from radar screens, said Malaysia’s civil aviation officials at the meeting fronted by its envoy to China, Datuk Iskandar Sarudin, and held in a packed room with nearly 400 relatives at the Metropark Lido hotel.

747 has been involved in 126 accidents or incidents, resulting in 2,861 fatalities.

As far as records, the 747 has the dubious distinction of 3 separate record death tolls: the highest death toll of any single aviation accident ever (520), the highest death toll of any single airplane accident (583), the highest death toll of a mid-air collision (349).

As of November 2013, a total of 329 aviation accidents and incidents involving all 737 aircraft have occurred, including 154 hull-loss accidents resulting in a total of 4,287 fatalities. The 737 has also been in 111 hijackings involving 325 fatalities.

Clearly Boeing can't build aeroplanes.

SUBANG control, he was just handed over to HCM control...nothing suspect about that, it's just what tech crew say to controllers.

Cheers. Thanks for clearing that up.

They are very dismissive of any questions and i agree.

Hand over the search to the U.S.A and let them organize it as this is farcical.

you're forgetting that there are close to 8000 Boeing 737's out there...and nearly 4000 still on order.

So do we know whether they are talking about a boat or a body? I'm assuming boat, as I would've thought we'd hear something about a body before it got asked twice. (second time sounded like body though!)

My take on that presser (feel free to correct me as the language was difficult at times) was that they have basically widened the search, due to the fact that an Unidentified Object, was seen in roughly the same area flying west at 2.15. This means that they believe that the plane might have been turning back. They are not sure on whether it is the same plane or not, and I believe that they will be able to confirm that by tomorrow.

The reason for the delay because there are two seperate radar followers, and they have had to get the US involved for the more intricate on. The initial one that was released to the world which showed a slight turn to the north was not as accurate, however it was definitely the right plane.

The flight was completely full and the four (not five!) people who didn't turn up were replaced by standby passengers.

What doesn't add up for me is that if the plane was turning back, then that means that it wouldn't have made it to the west body of water, they would be on the way back to KL and be in the South China Sea. The fact that they are looking in this direction means they are considering that it is either a. pilot suicide b. hijacking, or c. the plane was out of control once it started heading west and headed over Vietnam.

Sorry if convoluted, trying to remember!

Has there been any search directions east of Vietnam?
Also im surprised China hasn't taken a more active role in this..

If I'm not mistaken, 747s are also the most common commercial jet. Would be interested to see those numbers adjusted if they were all measured as a percentage as opposed to a raw statistic.
No they aren't. The 737 is the most common.

Prophetic !

Malaysia Airlines to convert stealth aircraft for high-class passenger use

mas_b2bomber.jpg

KUALA LUMPUR — National carrier Malaysia Airlines Berhad today confirmed plans to purchase 20 stealth bombers currently in use by the United States government as part of the airline’s recovery strategy.

“There are many clients out there who need to be under the radar when travelling outstation. From uber-celebrities, tycoons and high-profile world leaders who appreciate privacy — they don’t want their travel itineraries made public and have unfriendly parties such as paparazzi waiting at airports. Our new planes can take them anywhere in the world so quietly, even the airport people won’t know they’re coming!” he joked.

Our Black Fleet planes can not only land virtually anywhere, they can also fly as long as we want. There’s no limit to air travel now — if our clients don’t want to land, they can stay in the air indefinitely. We just keep refueling!”

“That’s the mantra of the stealth Black Fleet: Silent But Golden.”
