Aliens.... seriously people?

It's not hard to believe given the size of the universe (which we really know nothing about) and how small our planet is. Who knows what's out there.
*Cue alien music.*

I believe in extra-terrestrial life but ones that are capable of intergalatic space travel coming to Earth, taking planes and probing people seems a little farfetched.

I'm going to say it, I have a moderate fear of flying. I worry about every little sound the plane makes, and I'm not relaxed until I hit the ground. I've been on 24 flights in my life. I quite often look down and think, if this plane goes down, I'm ****ed, game over.
Having said that, chances of being killed in a plane crash are slim.

It's safe to say that most people have a general anxiety about flying. I mean if you think about it, you are really in a sardine can which is flying at high elevations. I say sardine can because the plane is pressurised with no way out mid-flight. With that said, the chances of dying are extremely low and pilots these days are really good at crash landing planes even on a body of water. As that graphic above states, there is no correlation with an increase in flights (millions/year) resulting in an increase in hull-losses. In fact, you could say that the more flights there are, the less accidents there are which is indicative of better technology and equipments. Events like flight MH370 and extremely rare these days.

I don't blame you for your fear because it's totally understandable and probably normal to a certain degree. I've been on three flights overseas. one of them I flew from Sydney to Mauritius which was 14hours. Between Perth and Mauritius, all there is is ocean and lots of it! Those thoughts do come across your head but they are just thoughts. :thumbsu:

Ive got flights coming up soon for work and holidays, as do many of my colleagues. Everyone here is uncomfortable about flying now.

Since MH370 there have been thousands and thousands of flights interstate and overseas all around the world and they all made it to the other end safely. Remember that!

Doesn't mean to say every passenger was entirely comfortable!! Issues like this are always in the back of your mind especially if you are in a 777!!!

If another one goes down and the report the FAA issued for cracks these planes may have/develop in the body are widespread they will ground the whole fleet worldwide.
