Jack Riewoldt requests trade
With the AFLTM season over and player movement upon us, Jack Riewoldt has shocked Coach ShaunDuggan and requested a trade. With a year still to run on his contract it is not known what will happen, especially with a number of players coming out of contract. Riewoldt had an up and down year but is expected to bounce back in 2013. Coach Duggan was not available to comment on the matter.
It is also believed that the Titans have extended Captain Scott Pendlebury's contract and looks set to be at the club for a further 5 years.

Pendlebury extends contract

StKilda superstar Scott Pendlebury has extended his contract length to 5 years after putting pen to paper this week. This move will almost certainly see him finish his career as a Titan. Coach Duggan would be pleased to have locked up the highly wanted midfielder. Pendlebury missed a chunk of games mid-season with injury but was still in superb form come seasons end. More good news coming from StKilda is the promotion of rookie Adam Kennedy to the senior list, signing on for 2 years.

On the trade front 2 big names have generated a lot of attention. Jack Riewoldt who has requested a trade has received a lot of interest with up to 6 clubs chasing his signature. The surprising name being linked to other clubs is versatile big man Paddy Ryder, he is valued greatly at the Titans due to his ability to play in multiple positions. Its rumored that the 2 could be packaged together in a blockbuster deal when the trade period begins.

Titans begin trade period with a bang!
StKilda has started the trade period by granting Full Forward Jack Riewoldts wish to be traded. He publicly stated he wanted a fresh start and Coach Duggan got the deal done. StKilda sent Riewoldt, uncontracted forward Jay Schulz and its first 2 draft selections to Brisbane and received 2 dynamo players in Harley Bennell and Lewis Jetta in return. Both have a huge future and ShaunDuggan had the following to say on the deal.
"Losing Jack wasn't what we were expecting during the off-season but we had to get a deal done for him, getting Jetta and Benell in returning is an outstanding result for us, we have the high calibre players in Pendlebury, Mitchell, Dal Santo and co but we needed that middle tier of players that are going to be improving, those 2 guys have huge upside and I am looking forward to seing them develop over the next few years"
Having given up their first 2 selections in the draft it is assumed StKilda will chase a draft pick or 2 at some stage during the trade period so they dont have to use their picks outside the top 70. Paddy Ryder has been a player floated around, its not known whether he will stay out his final year or if he will be moved on, that will be an interesting story to follow.

Titans remain active
StKilda has continued to remain active during the trade period by bringing back former Ruckman Matthew Kruezer. A season after sending him to new team Launceston, Duggan was able to lure him back. Also coming with him was the uncontracted Aaron Davey who had his contract torn up under the new amnesty clause. Making way for them was the very versatile Paddy Ryder. Ryder will be sorely missed but with the recruitment of Kruezer it all but sures up StKilda's ruck stocks for the next few years. Also arriving via a trade was the up and coming Ruckman Zac Clarke. StKilda sent backman Dennis Armfield to Adelaide in return for Clarkes services. Clarke signed on for 2 years to be Kruezers understudy.
In other news livewire forward Alan Didak has put an injury riddle year behind him to sign on for another year. He is expected to put in a full Pre-Season and be fit for a big 2013 season which could be his last. Young defender Ben Stratton also put pen to paper signing for a further 2 years capping off a good start to the week for the Titans.
