had a dream last night that i was leading a space crew on a mission to rescue patrick dangerfield. lulz.

there was a countdown to launch, like in aliens where a loudspeaker was saying 't-minus 15 minutes to launch' etc... and i'm scampering around the base getting everything onto the ship and i realise one of the crew members is missing. so leave the other crew members to load the ship whilst i look for the missing crew member. i opened the door to the launch control tower and the place had been transformed, it was like stepping into a gateway to another world. it had turned into an abandoned haunted mansion, with vines everywhere, it looked lovely with the rain and thunder too.

so, i found her on the top floor in a cupboard, and she was sitting with her knees up against her chest with her head down. i knew this was a bad sign that i shouldn't be taking her with me on the mission. anyway, i got her back to the ship, just in time for launch. we get into our pods as the ship takes off. all the pods are in seperate rooms, like bedrooms. not long after takeoff there are loud shrieking screams coming from the room from the crew member that was initially missing. so, the whole crew charge into her room to find her turning into like the girl from exorcist. we look next to her pod and there are all these watches that are sealed in plastic packaging (the packaging that xbox360 accessories use) and one of them had been opened with nail clippers. upon looking at the watch the dial is spinning off the charts and me and the rest of the crew look at each other with ghastly looks. and then i woke up.

not sure what all of this meant. was certainly interesting. and fwiw, i don't know if i rescued patrick dangerfield or not.

I get incredibly violent dreams when I have a cigarette before I sleep.

I remember one of them vividly; I was climbing down a bloodstained exterior of an apartment building from at least the 5th story along with a lot of other desperate people. I watched people slip and pulling others down with them, but I got down safely and it was hazy but bloody, and it was like a party atmosphere.

I walked through the crowd and into the building again, it was entirely dark but saw a friend of mine, dressed in party clothes, dressed to impress and all. She handed me a drink and walked off, while I continued walking to a light ahead.

I got to the light and it was a bluff of a hill, and it had a brilliant view of surrounding hills and mountains. A huge man walks next to me and says "Do you want to see what we've done?"

I must've done/said something affirmative and he motions at me to look left. Over there was something like a wooden frame of a house, but with spikes all over the frame, and there were bodies impaled on every single spike.

I look back to the huge man, I give him a nod and he walks off. I wake up with a blood nose.

Sorry if this was too violent, but that was indeed strange.

kind of cigarette related but not... when I was trying to quit many years ago I occasionally went to bed with a nicotine patch on and F me did I have some vivid dreams and always violent blood n guts type nightmares, I'd wake up shaking in a pool of sweat. They were incredibly real.

Has anyone else had crazy dreams on the patches?

Has anyone else dreamed about something then when you're awake that day something happens pretty much exactly like your dream??

I did dream that Richmond beat Geelong 87-80 the night before we met them this year.

We scored 87 but Geelong won by 40-odd points.

had one a few months back, it was kind of creepy, atleast in how i receieved it... it was one of those strictly black and white ones which i rarely ever get, and it took place in my old house that i lived in as a kid some 20 years back, my late father was in it, but his younger self from back then, my mum was in it and i saw her outside looking into the window where i was, but when i approached the window, my mum just disappeared like a ghost, i tried to say something to her, but i couldn't say anything, no words came out of my mouth

i then woke up, but i literally could not move for about a good minute, i was paralyzed, i couldn't even make a noise just like in the dream.... lucid dream? i have no idea what it was

over the weekend I was dreaming about a suit I bought for spring carnival and I looked quite dashing in it, I woke up and checked my wardrobe and there was no suit in there :(

It was grey with light pink stitching woven faintly through it.
Needless to say the dream was weird because who the **** dreams about a suit?

That's sleep paralysis. Probably more than half of this forum members have experienced it at least once. I've had it happen to me a few times. Basically you're still dreaming. (I know, crazy right??). Apparently whatever you dreaming about you'll see when you "wake up". So say you're dreaming about some scary guy with a gun or something, you'll see him in front of you. It's just a fragment of your imagination. Scary? Absolutely. Dangerous? hardly, unless if you have a heart condition it will really terrify you. Luckily for myself I've never seen any images during sleep paralysis.

We are a well balanced lot, clearly.

I had a recurring nightmare from when I was about 8 or 9 well until my teens.

My room was at the back of the house, and the house had a big, semi rural backyard maybe a half acre or so backing into the hills in Armadale.

I'd have this dream that it was a sunny afternoon, I'd see something like a metal hot air balloon in the sky, from my window and run to tell my brothers and they'd just act really uninterested and change the subject.

It would keep getting closer and freakier and I'd keep trying to get them to come look, and no one would pay any attention, so I'd be running out the back of the house to check on how close it was, and then run back to try and get them to pay attention, and the whole time the thing was getting closer. It wasn't like a stereotypical UFO, but a sort of steampunky mechanical metal hot air balloon, with flashing red lights, and even when it was only a few meters from my window and lighting up the whole house, I still couldn't get anyone to pay attention and I knew it was coming to take me away.

Sometimes I'd have a further dream where the balloon had got me and I'd be in a cattle pen with lots of other kids and (hello Freud) I'd see my mom in another pen looking slightly annoyed saying 'we'll just have to make the best of this.'

Reading that it sounds hilarious but it used to petrify me. One funny thing was my parents moved and rented out that house when I was a teenager and the dreams stopped, but later when I was about 20 they briefly moved back in, and I spent a few nights there in my old room - every time, same dream.

I know it sounds like a stereotypical UFO type dream, but I don't think I even knew what a UFO was when I started to have them. The vibe was just that a very very bad man, who I never saw, was flying the balloon and coming to get me.

I have these real bizarre dreams all the time. I'm not sure if they actually signify anything or are just a part of your thought process going into overdrive.

I get really annoyed with dream interpretations. If you dream about X, then it means this. How can you believe that shit, you need to carefully analyze the persons lifestyle, environment and mental state to truly determine what a dream might mean. So if I dream about a train, it could actually be that I collect them, or I was on one recently. I would categorize dreams into two types. Dreams that have a psychological meaning, and significance to current/past or future events. And dreams that are random crazy insignificant dreams.

Last night I had perhaps the strangest dream for a long time. I was on a train, and the train was going fast, I was tense, worried the train was going to derail. Then my worst fears come true, and the train begins to derail. The carriage I'm in has no roof. I grab onto the top wall tightly as the carriage flies around. I'm not sure whats happening but I'm standing there looking at the train wreck. I then see two investigators talking to each other. One guy says 'there are no survivors on this carriage' It was then I realized I had died, and was looking at the world from another perspective. The guy says again, 'look at this guy. he's still hanging onto the carriage, guy refused to let go' I realize this is my dead lifeless body. I vaguely remember walking around and trying to converse and touch people, but not being able to. I don't remember much after that.

I've made a series of lifestyle changes in the last week, removing facebook, spending more time with friends etc, eliminating bad habits, and made a few core promises to stick to. I think looking at these factors, it could explain the dream quite well.

Had a dream other night i was playing footy for my home team and at 3/4 time scores were like 72-73. The coach then sends me to full back. From the start of the qquarter the ball comes in, and every time they score a point. Id kick out and the opposition would get the ball back but kick another point. Each time id try something different, long, short, play on i was trying everything but the ball kept coming in. Then the one time i ****ed up they got the ball and kicked at goal. I was like ****. And so disappointed, but it hit the post. The only thing i make of it is that im in the thick of things in the firing line, but trying, and when i **** up im getting lucky.

One night when I was kid mickey mouse flew over in yellow overalls, riding a pedal powered bike that flew.

I've had this recurring dream where i find myself driving or walking past this house made out of white boards. I know what's in there but the next thing i know I'm in there tied up and this creepy old guy has my gut ripped open and he's talking to me while i lay there with open eyes.
I've had it 2-3 times now.

I'm always in a car that the brakes never work in. Or Being chased by a dinosaur at my primary school.

Then there's a cricket game but I never throw the ball in when I get in the outfield.

had a nuts one last night: first girl i ever went out with, who went from the same high school into the same course in uni as me, one year ahead, after we'd 'broke-up' pretty amicably. so she and i were in this weird lavish building. lots of gold chandelliers, and this vivid maroon carpet, mahogany tables, like something out of a james bond film. really just this gorgeous building. she's a bit of a glamour girl, so was all glammed up wearing this silver dress looking absolutely FAB. not sure what i was wearing. anyway, i seemed to be there with no purpose other than to escort and what seemed like support her through. we'd be in rooms having these intimate conversations then i'd catch, in the corner of my eye, some anonymous dude in a suit, with this cold expression on his face. he would not say anything, but just look at me, then she would realise, and look at him and excuse herself. she'd apologise profusely, sincerly, insisting that she didn't want to leave the room but that she "had to". i'd say ok, and go whatever, because i'm ambivalent in my dream-persona.

she'd head-off really sad that she had to go and that she'd 'let me down', not that i really cared. after a little break i'd be walking around this building and see her again with these guys in suits having what felt like a very intense or difficult conversation, i'd walk in and she'd embrace me in that loving way only your girl, or maybe your mum, can and say "oh katana, please, please take me away", and i'd go whatever... ambivalent dream-persona. this repeated like three or four times over. us getting close, some dude appearing, her being absolutely distraught at leaving and then adorning me as i walked by chance into whatever room she was in. i was really feeling these vivid emotions of our relationship, everytime i found her it was like making-out with her for the first time at a 16th, everytime she left it was like that conversation of how she's moving on.

back to IRL, she's been going through some shit lately and been ****ing around a lot, not going to classes at uni, going out too much blah blah. today i found out that she's being kicked out of university (i take a very serious course @ 40 hours a week, n they don't take any shit). after this dream, of all the days i could have had that dream it was today...

like idk its been racing my mind all day, that was some of the most visceral feelings i've ever felt but it was all a dream, and then i walk into class today and find this out... damn... makes u wonder.

4 or 5 years ago I was trying to learn the first part of Eagle Rock by Daddy Cool on the guitar and was struggling to play it. Went to sleep one night and had a dream I was playing it perfectly and when I woke up the next morning I picked up my guitar and on my first attempt played it perfectly.
