So, what's your strategy for next year?

I have 3 rules:

1) no trading until round 3. Hold off till the bubble's about to burst

2) hold 10 trades to round 16- no matter what

3) NEVER listen to BB, H2TYW or SE. Those west coast boys are ****ed up units!

I give myself to round 1 to break all three rules :)

Trade my arse off early... But not stupidly (ie not bringing in 1 game wonders, as everyone here seems to suck me in to doing... Hall and Johannisen were mistakes (at least the first time I traded in Johannisen)).

Trade aggressively to get the right rookies so I can get quick upgrades. Then once fully upgraded, save my few remaining trades and hope injuries don't hit.

My strategy often backfires in my face when all of my players get injured.

#1 Trust my own gut, more often than not I don't back my own judgement and it backfires, both trades and VC/C

#2 Try and not get blind drunk while punting on the nags and making last minute trades.

#3 Visit India

#4 Less rage trading
Stuff India I'm going here

Got some bad news for ya mate. My strategy is to win.

My strategy is to find that SC God campaigner and kick him square in the balls for the bullshit he put me through last year.

Then we can call it even and I can go about my business without interruptions.

Upgrade to full premo as soon as possible.

Don't go chasing points.

Keep 3 trades for the Finals.

Nail the bye rounds, so many points to be made.

Back my gut in regards to VC options.

DPP ruck loop hole option needed.

Treat every problem as your dog would, if you can't eat or root it,
pi55 on it and walk away.

I reckon this is the first year you can make a genuine argument for going super light in an area. At this stage I'll only be going with two premo's up forward and loading up in the middle.

Macrae - Dahlhaus - Acres
McGluggage - Ainsworth - Burton

And I'm sure a few 117k players will pop up over the preseason. Chuck a DPP in the middle and I reckon it's not all that risky.

Was going to see who else was going to do this.

Random question but do people pick rookies first then premiums, or vice versa?

Intrigued by the way some people go about it.
This time of the year I pick premos and anyold rookie to set up some structures.
Once you know which rookies look likely to play you fit them in.

Of course come 5 minutes before lock out you change your entire team at least 50 times still.

Rule-1: No spuds... I don't care how well they're scoring and/or how good their value is at a point in time, they should not be picked.

I usually stick to this rule, but for some inexplicable reason broke it last season when I traded in Tom Lee.

I do. I'll pick 3 or 4 in each line, then I'll fill in the gaps with a couple of decent mid-priced options then premos. Sometimes doing it that way you can find an extra premo.

At least you didn't have Tom Lee from round one :$
He was one of my only players who stayed in my team all year...

Agree with you, I will be going light up forward and loading the other lines

Locks
Rookies
Gaps to be filled and juggled

And most importantly

Leave 100k+ for juggles

Starting float / kitty, focus on arbitrage, go in with a viable ruc/fwd DPP option (Ryder?) + strnadica and back myself in.
