Their young players look very slick, but every time I watch a Gold Coast game it looks and feels like a completely different team.

Their best players are guys like Ellis and Greenwood, it’s no wonder they just can’t compete in most game. Once Rowell/Anderson/King/Luko/Rankine hit their mid 20’s they’ll be a dominant team.

Seen Miller transition into a gun mid, Collins and Ballard are very high calibre defenders. Swallow is a solid mid.

There’s nothing sticking out that’s terrible about them, there’s just slightly defective in a few areas. Reckon they need to give Dew a few years still.

They were going ok at one point last season, was lots of promise so they signed Dew. Everyone started predicting they would finally break into the 8 this season.
Than once the off season started everyone forgot them and stopped picking them and now they are 0-2 for the 1st time since 2017.

FWIW off the top I would see where we are after the bye and if there is no improvement we need to assess the options out there and look at moving Dew on, sacking someone after 2 rounds is rough, that is Premier League like speed.

But what the club said before the season started is they were training to peak later in the year, as opposed to previous years where we have hit the ground running in round 1 before falling off.

Whether or not that is the right move, we will need to wait and see.

But a better coach than Dew? Who knows what the problem is at Gold Coast. He strikes me as a decent coach with the odds stacked against him.

If you can't get your team into the top 8 in six seasons your time is up. They are not playing well, the Geelong win was overated. Geelong were awful.

It is amazing that with all their top picks the only elite KPF they have gotten is Tom Lynch and I'm not sure Lynch is even at the level of the recent elite KPF's like J Riewoldt, JJ Kennedy, Pavlich, J Brown or N Riewoldt. Yeah King is meant to be good, but he hasn't proven to be elite, yet at least.

Then the Suns Board dug their heels in and said "we won't be bullied by the AFL" and so re-signed Dew?

That's what I believe happened.
