The strong-bodied youngster says with each game he's become more vocal around the club and is not afraid to tell a teammate if they've done something wrong – be he another first-year player or a 10-year veteran.

Good Article and i love the first two paragraphs;

IN HIS own words, Fremantle recruit Nic Suban is annoying, intense and serious.
The opponents he grabs by the scruff of the neck on a weekly basis know it, and so do the teammates who have watched the 19-year-old Victorian cross the country, step into a professional environment and have an impact.

Will be in the leadership group in 2011 no doubt!

was great today, love him flying the flag at the first possible opportunity!

Completley agree with the OP as to him being captain material

Mayne's ahead (both literally and figuratively) of Suban at this stage IMHO.

Both would be highly worthy el-capitainos, though - perhaps joint from 2011-2016? 4 time dual premiership "capitains"?? And sole employers of 34 South Street barbers??

As i stated in another thread Subans intensity and strength at the contest is a highlight and he leads from the front. He would be my choice for captain when Pav finishes up in a couple of years for sure.

He only played 50% against the Power and still had a big impact, winning numerous contests where he was outnumbered, tackling hard, and polished disposal. Also kicked a pearler of a goal too.

Mayne would be a good deputy but Suban is ahead of the rest imo.

Interesting thoughts. Its obviously too early to call that sort of thing definitively, but he ticks most boxes that's for sure. What we don't know much about is the off field stuff of course, but eve that sounds good from a distance. One thing though is that, though I love how he flies the flag, there have been the odd occasions and I mean odd where he has been caught out of the play because he's busy trying to rip the collar off another player. I wouldn't have it any other way, but he needs to keep that balance. I certainly wouldn't be unhappy if he gets the gig in a few years from what Ive seen, but a long way to go yet.

I don't get to watch too many freo games, but watching freo towel up port failure yesterday night was impressive! Use are a really exciting team to watch with young guys like suban, hill, broughton and mayne playing. they look good;) unfortantly use can't seem to play the same away.. is it a mental problem? also i don't undertand how use guys criticse kepler bradley, his had a really good season IMO, after the couple of years at essendon, i thought freo picking him up was a big no no. proved me wrong i guess.
