I thought the title originally said subtle homoerotic things
Anyone playing footy qualifies on that count, there are times when that resembles a big gay pantomime.

All about context tho G. Squeezing butts, kissing = ok in AFL.
Touching a leg or knee accidently in a MMF 3some = sky is falling down.

Gough do you see/experience actual homophobic stuff???

For me I should probably clean up my language, I still say a few perhaps homophobic/slang/offensive words when I'm frustrated (usually at the footy or in my car road raging). But honestly isn't meant to be homophobic. If that makes any sense.

It's more casual than outright, and direct hostility. OP summed it up well, I don't think there are too many out, and out homophobes about the place any more, people occasionally are a bit unthinking, as I am when I open my mouth, and say something stupid, and offensive to somebody.

I hate Josh Thomas.

That's not because he's gay though, it's because he's annoying and unfunny.

I like other gay comedians like Tom Ballard and Julian Clary.

I judge people for who they are as people, their sexual orientation isn't a factor.

I don't really care for Josh Thomas' stand up comedy or anything, but I really like his show Please Like Me. I found it bloody entertaining and I ended up watching all episodes released so far.

On the Homophobic thing...

I still immaturely refer to things as 'gay', but with one of my friends I do it on purpose. I've got two gay friends, one I would never refer to anything as 'gay' around him cause he'd probably get offended, while the other couldn't care less and refers to things as gay himself.

I'll admit I can tend to cringe a bit when dealing with the really effeminate gays. Some of them to me seem to love playing the stereotype.
That Alan Carr bloke is flaming over the top.I'd never heard of him until he appeared on Top Gear years ago and I seriously nearly threw up when he started talking.Even today I still can't watch him without wanting to hurl, yet I have no problem with John Inman's character in Are You Being Served.

I privately judge flamboyant gays and even just ones who do the 'gay voice'. I wouldn't call it homophobic, though. I just think those ones are attention seeking idiots.

Still say gay/*** for self amusement, still very immature, slowly trying to cut it out but when your mate wears gloves to the footy I just cant help myself.

I lost my shit when I heard that they are considering making Elsa gay in Frozen 2. Opens the doors for children to question their sexuality.

On Alan Carr, he's actually quite funny.
