Hows Kosi's pre season goin he is fairly cheap on supercoach worth picking him up? wat r ur thoughts?

Supercoach

Will Nick Riewoldt be back for the start of the season? Also, I've picked Gilbert from the Saints. Heard some good things, but what do you guys reckon his chances are like this year of getting the odd run?

Re: Supercoach

Riewoldt - Will be back and playing by round 1 for sure
Gilbert - Have to wait and see what rosco thinks of him but i don't see him playing more than 5 games unless goose is out for an extended period

Re: Supercoach

Nick was supposed to play last night but ended up watching the entire game from the bench. Not sure why that was the case but he's almost certain to play next Friday night.

Gilbert hasn't played yet this season due to injury. I'm sure he'll get a game or two because he's an athletic key defender type player and it's an area where we don't have a lot of depth. I haven't seen enough to be convinced but he's got some fans amongst our supporters.

Beat me to it Bourky.

Re: Supercoach

in return can you tell me how much travy varcoe is gonna play this year i was extremely impressed with him last nite and subsequently got him in supercoach.. surely he'll play this year?

Re: Supercoach

There are mixed opinions of Varcoe at Geelong. He got drafted last year having missed half a season of football with a knee injury. He was young when we drafted him also, so not much was expected in his first year. His wraps were so high though that he is the first player since Ablett to wear the #5. Should get a few games next year, but wont be a major player.

I think Gilbert will be a star.

He is set to pounce into the limelight this year. Doesn't look likely to be a KPP (in the clasical sense), but will play a role as the third tall running out of defence. Has the speed but still will take some time to adjust to the fitness demands of AFL.

Ferguson has done nothing wrong in his preparation this year. He will be out to cement a spot. He also represents good value ... as does Koschitzke (who is a soda at that price to be in everybodies SC squad)

Re: Supercoach

Gwilt may still be a little way off holding a permanent spot. He has the natural ability. He is a half back flank type with natural speed, but has the frame that suggests he might be able to hold down a KP spot. He has been challenged to do just that this preseason, mainly as a full back, and hasn't been impressive. I hope that this doesn't bode poorly on his playing future as I think he has a long way to go before he can be relied upon to hold down such a resposible position. Don't let that detract from his ability as a running flanker type because I think that, despite his inexperience, he could end up being a success story for us.

IIRC it was a foot injury, not a knee injury
