Genuinely not intimating anything, and don't mean to sound that way. It just comes from a frustration of seeing and hearing this exact scenario play out again and again where the victims of racism are constantly questioned on their legitimacy.

They feel the way they feel for a reason, and no amount of suspicion can reverse that. Worst case if he's completely incorrect, who cares let it go, scrutinising it just makes it worse for him if he is genuine. Watching Root today got me wondering if he could end up in the “Best 5 cricketers I’ve ever seen” list.

For what it’s worth, its:

1. Kallis
2. Warne
3. Greg Chappell
4. Tendulkar
5. Hadlee

I suspect both Steve Smith and Joe Root will ultimately be talked about in those echelons.

What I do know: this series has rocketed to the top of the “crappiest ever Ashes series” list.

Greg Chappell was just the most poised and elegant batsman. Loved his cover drives.
Never saw Sobers play.
I would still take Kallis over Beefy Botham as an all rounder. I always thought Botham should have been an Australian. He was typical Australian in every way.

I was there when Sobers for the ROW made 274 approx at the G facing Lillee and Thommo . Bowled pace and left arm chinamen and absolute freak

I guess it depends if you watch Sky News, read the Herald Sun and listen to 3AW. I don't do any of that.

I agree that crime has increased, but it has in all capital cities and it isn't just a Melbourne 'thing'.
