this is embarrassing. whats happened. predictable, slow, mistake riddled, boring and no spark whatsoever! You'd think a team playing for either 4th or 10th would put in a better showing than this. Maybe in an hour I will eat my words... And as for Big Bad Barry. He's one of my favourite players, but its like he's forgotten how to play. Sorry fellow swannies... but geez......

I keep saying this but this is the worst performance by the Swans since Paul Roos became coach. Its time to make some hard decisions with some of our more experianced players. We have some promising reserve players i think its about time we use them.

Surely Barry Hall should be dropped, along with 1/2 the team after this. Collingwood have kids in defence, and he still cant take a mark, in fact dropping them almost every time. It doesnt seem to matter which fullback it is now, they are all outplaying him.

yeah its absolutely disgracefull.. bad for the supporters attending the game, bad for supporters at home, go to wonder about next week, playing like this will not get us to many more wins this season. hall just hasnt seemed to recover from last years GF..

Can you believe we only lost by 19? We were certainly a lot worse than that. Paul Bevan = hack

i didnt mean to lead a barrage of hanging crap on your team when their down, but you gotta call it when its there. Roosy has got some serious problems. Then again, its only football, as he's always said, and theres life after footy.

We have been blown away a number of times this year in the first quarter, and then play "honourable" catch up football after that.

We need a better defensive tactic in the first quarter, Leo it's just not good enough to shake your head, put your hands on your hips and wonder what happened, when your opponent takes yet again another mark. I believe the backline still needs a shake up as they are conceding too many easy points in the first quarter.

Bolton should have started the game on Rocca

Also who is our forwards coach atm?

well when we continue to move it slowly slowly, pin point accuarcy becomes more difficult, teams want to beat us and only have to stay on their man like collingwood did tonight to force turnovers, . the last qtr just proves that quicker ball movement is needed.. big time..

I was predicting the Swans would play like how we played against the Bombers, Hawks, Saints, Kangaroos and the Eagles.

We don't 'turn up to play'. Okay, stop making up excuses cos we have a serious problem. Drop the whole team. Bring on the reserves, they would do a whole lot better.

Why are we dropping these easy marks. Hall could've kicked at least 5 goal if he'd marked properly. Dropped sitters, but a much better performance from him in the last Q. But it was toooo late. :thumbsd:

The Swans need to give some of the older guys who feel a bit safe a bit of a wake up call. What younger talents do you guys have that you could bring through to bring in some fresh blood? Not that I think age is a problem, just that some of the regular starters might be a bit comfortable.

I've been following the Swans since about 2000, and that's the worst game I can remember us ever playing. I mean, usually when we score so few points it's because we kick like 8.15 or something, i.e. against Adelaide almost every year. But tonight was just terrible. So many simple skill errors.

Easily our worst performance under Roos.

If Schmidt is made a scapegoat this week, I'll be furious.

McVeigh, Bevan and Jude Bolton all have to go.

Don't forget Grundy - although his one hand mark was spectacular

Do you think they'll even drop McVeigh let alone Jude Bolton? Pual Roos needs to rethink our best 22 players. Clearly we didn't have our best 22 on ground tonight.

I was on the brink of throwing myself on to the railway tracks.

Grundy wasn't given much of a chance really. I think he had the least ground time out of anyone.

We might've had a chance if Hall had've taken his marks. All that crap the commentators kept on saying about Wakelin doing a magnificent job was just that, crap. Barry had him outpositioned nearly all the time, but dropped the easy mark, Barry's mistake, not Wakelin's deed. The only times the defenders really beat him was when they had an extra one or two back there. Don't know what Barry's been doing lately, but he needs to stop rubbing his hands in vegetable oil before the games, it's killing him. It's not like he's scared of the ball or imposing himself, he's still charging through plenty of people.

On the bright side, Goodes' flashes of brilliance are becoming more and more frequent, if he could start dominating again there's a bit of life in our season yet.

You swans supporters are incredible. You've been playing that style of footy for a few years now and it has won you a flag and you nearly pinched another. Memo - Sydney. The rest of the competition has woken up to your predictable style of footy and thankfully for the sake of our great game sides like Collingwood are showing the rest of the competition how to beat your ugly, slow tempo, gang tackling, stop start boring side.

To some exent I agree with you.

Although, Hall is just frustrated and after reading an article written by him in SMH, he said he was raring to go. I was excited and I was hoping for the best from him. Hall wasn't beaten, but he just tried too hard I thought.

Our season is like almost gone. Even Luffy on the MMM station sounded down. How many times have we been playing like this, this season?? Roos and the players continue to play it down and blame it on our slow starts and blah blah blah.

Roosy is not looking at the big picture here, everyone here and also RWO know there's serious dropping and chopping to do. Quit with the games experience and the reptuation, we need to seriously look at the players who aren't helping the Swans at all.

let me tell you. THAT style of footy which we saw tonite did not win us a flag or see us almost pinch another. THAT style of footy was just rubbish. Flag winning style still had style, it was just different to the other 15 teams in the comp, but still deliberate and strategic and hard and gutsy, playing to our strengths, not other teams strengths. Tonite was just a disgrace, and now teams are learning how to play to their own strengths to combat ours.

and why do we wait until the game is pratically beyond reach before deciding to throw caution to the wind and play on?
Roos was outcoached tonight. Malthouse knes exactly what to expect the swans played into his hands. It was clear after 1/4 time that we needed to change game plans but it didn't happen until the game was beyond reach. Very disappointing.

Well maybe there are no droppings b/c of the crap reserve comp we are playing. I have a feeling if we had some team involved in a better comp like the VFL or South Aussie league we would be seeing newer faces and older faces dropped.

As it stands you drop a former champion or good player in the Canberra league and what does that prove? That he can dominate against a very weak oppostion and kick 10 goals?

We need to fix our reserves asap as its going to affect us in a few years.

As for Matthews, he is a vital clog in roosys gameplan hence why he is still there.
