Actually, I just started mentally going through the midfielders from each team and you're probably not far off by saying there are 20 ahead of him. I'd still think he should get a spot ahead of the likes of Riloi or Steve Johnson on a flank due to the fact he's done more damage forward of centre than almost any small forward or half forward flanker in the league.

I'd agree with that. He should be in the forward line based on the fact they've pushed mids who have barely kicked any goals on the flanks in previous years. He has 40+ goals, so that's an easy decision to fill up a forward spot for him, leaving more room for the better performing mids.

B: Josh Gibson - Ted Richards - Beau Waters
HB: Brett Deledio - Luke McPharlin - Grant Birchall
C: Dayne Beams - Jobe Watson (c) - Trent Cotchin
HF: Lewis Jetta - Matthew Pavlich - Dane Swan
F: Cyril Rioli - Lance Franklin - Dean Cox
R: Ivan Maric - Scott Thompson - Gary Ablett (vc)
INT: Josh Kennedy - Scott Pendlebury - Joel Selwood - Kieren Jack

I'd go with the above. Hope they chuck another mid on the HF line because they spend a fair chunk of time in the forward line now. Kennedy/Swan rest up there a fair bit and have 20+ goals this year.

If I had to choose between Jack and Kennedy, Kennedy is more deserving at this stage. Has been brilliant since the start of the year. Jack took 5-6 weeks to get going.

That's a pretty decent team. Not much I'd change from what I've seen this year. I would have had Dangerfield in a few weeks ago but I reckon Jack has done enough to take his spot.

You're right about the half forward flankers too. Not too many genuine hf flankers around these days but plenty of attacking midfielders to choose from.

I honestly believe the selectors look at how many games a team has won, and then allocates them an amount of spots. We have been top of the table for weeks. It wouldn't surprise me if we get 4 in.

Ted - Lock
Jetta - Lock
Jack - Maybe
Kennedy - Maybe
I think Richards is a definite lock to make the final team. No 2 ways about it. The other 3 should be a shoe-in to make the initial 40 man squad. It just depends on the selectors where their allegience lies.

Pardon the intrusion.

Id be suprised if the past few weeks could lead to dangerfield falling out of the AA team. 6 Brownlow votes in the past 2 games IMO.
