Hayward from memory played sfa Ressies in his first year. Dawson was stuck in the 2s while others stunk it up in the ones.

And oh yeah, Allir spent a silly amount of time in the 2s. Good for his development?

I was referring to midfielders though, but yes, Aliir’s initial year or so in the NEAFL was definitely good for his development. Think it’s clear where I stand on his second stint in the NEAFL...

Hayward was the same as Blakey. Not ready, but capable of cameos you can get away with playing as a forward.

Agree re Rowbottom and Jack. If the spot is there and it’s between a fossil and a kid, always go the kid. But still think it’s best for him to be getting as much consistent footy into him in the reserves that we can this year.

One of the reasons I would keep Rowbottom in the NEAFL this year is his position. He is a mid. Not much point promoting him to the forwards.

I would let him develop this year than put him in the MIDDLE next year.

JPK can semi retire forward after Dan Meh leaves.

Yep we've seen how quickly past midfielders Hewett, Florent and Dawson established themselves as players after spending virtually entire seasons in the NEAFL. It's a route that's frowned upon by enthusiastic supporters but it's one I think benefits the player in the long run.

Zac Foot still looks like he's yet to fully adapt to playing against men, but bloody hell that was a nice goal. 4 or 5 bounces from CHB to kick the goal from 40m.

Always bad there. Doesn’t get much sun and the rain collects on the grandstand roof and then does a good impression of a waterfall as it drains directly a metre in from the boundary line. Terrible design.

Cody Hirst looks at home very quickly. Barely anything of him but he goes hard. Could turn out to be a very astute selection.

Used pace and some strength to burst through to get it to Hirst. Senior footy kind of attributes imo. One of the best things I've seen him do so far at the club.
