Do any other clubs have a training and admin base a few minutes walk from their home ground? Richmond maybe, if they are still based at Punt Road. Collingwood’s centre is probably walking distance but a lot further from the MCG.

Suns?

Richmond are still based at Punt Road. In fact they use their entire venue now (There was a fencing club VRI who was based there but moved away a few years ago at the end of Covid).

Melbourne were close before moving to Casey Fields.

Gold Coasts ground is about a 1 minute walk from their home ground and use their home ground to train most weeks.

Currently only Sydney, Collingwood (would only be 5 minutes at most), Richmond and Gold Coast are within walking distance from their home grounds. (I'm not sure about GWS though).

Both are a short walk to the G
I just looked at a map to see exactly where the AIA Centre is. It’s certainly within walking distance but still many times further away than the Hall of Industries is from the SCG. Too far away for Collingwood to reenact what the Swans did on Thursday.

A march from Punt Road is more feasible, but also further enough away to make it more logistically challenging, particularly when you factor in the need for barricades and security along the distance of the walk. Especially for Richmond or Pies fans. I don’t know if they could be trusted to be as well-behaved and respectful as Swans fans were on Thursday, where people stood back and gave the entourage plenty of space, even where there were not even flimsy barricades in place.

the collingwood contingent would be wary of being mugged by fans on their walk

Thank you Liz for telling us all

Roaming Brian was so bad. I mean so bad. They hyped it up but it has to be banned.

Robbie Fox made a good joke about "always wanting to win round zero" but Brian didnt even twig to it.

Taylor is just a larger lump of 4x2

There's at least half a dozen Swans players alone more fitting of this title.

Don't fall for it.

Cornes has been mounting Hayward's case in the media for a few years now, even when he'd be playing shocking. Oh and Hayward's a South Australian! Shocking!

And if he goes he goes. Happy for him to be talked up and get a huge contract so we are more than adequately compensated.

No wonder they forced him out of COllingwood.

Not sure if this Guardian review has already been posted but as someone once said, HERE IT IS:

"....personified by the hard-running, exquisitely skilled Errol Gulden and Nick Blakey’s oddly compelling reptilian runs."
It's true! A Frill-Necked Lizard darting across the sand sums him up perfectly.

Honestly, is there anyone in the media remotely as dumb as Mark Robinson.
He turns up 15 minutes late for the third night of 360 stating that he forgot the starting time was 6.30. As John McEnroe would say "you can't be serious". Others have suggested that he was at the pub and left late because it was still happy hour. Would not surprise me at all.
Then today in his likes and dislikes from the weekend he states under the heading Was round 0 a success "it was a flat atmosphere in Melbourne. Maybe a stand alone blockbuster at the MCG on Sunday with Hawthorn and Essendon would have helped." How ridiculous from every level.
The whole idea of the opening round was to promote AFL in NSW and Queensland. Had nothing to do with Victoria but little minds like his just can't see outside of Melbourne. Considering the MCG was still laying turf only a few days ago and they are hoping it will be ready for Thursday night never entered his head. The other fact is that Essendon and Hawthorn play each other in round 1 would have been an issue but then again Robbo never knows who is playing who on any given week.
The fact that he still has a gig on AFL360 is astounding and probably as much so that he is still the chief football writer at the Herald Sun is similarly amazing

I was about to post about this #urd , in 2 pages he never mentions us.
Was chatting to Tom Morris yesterday and he was in Sydney Thursday night and said it was sensational and great for the game in the northern states . Tom has a new show starting on 9 Sunday and hopefully after he wins a cricket premiership

No its not amazing. The Herald Sun Football and Its writers are complete junk. No Surprise Robinson is the chief.
Water seeks its own level.

It needs to be kept for luck.

Just a shame Grundy has to get stung every week now
haha.. not sure if you've ever been done by a bluebottle.. they f**king hurt!

ps.. hot water, as hot as you can handle. I just about gave my 5yo boy 3rd degree burns and he thanked me for it. (he didn't go in the ocean for weeks - fear of bluebottles not his dad burning him)
