An excellent review by HB of the Mongrel. Says quite a few of the things being said here by the more observant posters plus a fair bit more. Best $6.60 I spend.
Smiling over the spelling.
Perhaps we should link HB to :

Grundy is making a late All-Australian charge

It is little coincidence that Sydney's form has improved at the same time as its ruck has reached the top of his game. Brodie Grundy reaffirmed his claim to be among the leading rucks with a powerful performance against the Dockers' one-two punch of Luke Jackson and Sean Darcy that proved pivotal in the Swans' 11-point victory on Sunday. The 31-year-old struck first when awarded a free kick against Jackson at a boundary throw-in and slotted the opening goal of the game, then went on to gather a game-high 12 clearances among 20 disposals to set the tone as the Swans dominated the stoppages. All-Australian selectors have named as many as three rucks in the squad in recent years and even among stiff competition, Grundy must be right in the mix after earning the last of his two blazers in 2019.

Well this one I did not see coming

Makes sense, when he plays well and is tackling, working hard, we get going and win, he is just no nonsense

Doesnt surprise me. I think the very last comment I made in the Hayward thread was that due to his role he plays his best footy when we're playing well as a team.

Being a medium sized forward who doesn't play any other positions is a pretty tough gig

Bluey McKenna talking coaching on SEN.
Experienced and balanced view..
Every coach needs 3 to 4 years to give them a go.
Importance of good assistants
Injuries impact
Leadership from the top down...president and ceo communicating. ( hope we get a good one )
Game plans for the list...and the list for the game plan.

Might be interpreting a bit of what he said

His comments on the Cornes issue reflected my thoughts.

Ain't that the truth about MSFs? Shocked to learn in the general recent (deserved) gushiness about Jamie Elliott that this is his first 40 goals season. Puts Wil's '24 season in more context.

Not a popular bloke at a couple of local clubs and at CV

Gee I hate the way he's called a tagger. I hate that terminology, always makes me think of the scragging, dirty types like Baker was. Don't reckon our JJ plays like that at all.

I think is a compliment to Jordon that as he says he can restrict the best player but also hurt the opposition as well.

And he did on the weekend.

I think it is only a negative connotation if you think of the role as a negative one. Which a lot of people do. Tagging is a genuine craft that some can do and others can not. I think the only way the perception of tagging is ever going to change and become appreciated for what it is is for those who do it to wear the title of 'taggers' proudly.

That and "I am become death, destroyer of Brownlows" doesn't roll off the tongue as nicely.
