I tend to agree - I'm immediately suspicious when TPTB start frothing at the mouth to convince us of something and generally find their arguments tend to have some holes in them when you scratch under the surface (climate/carbon issue for instance).
There has been monstrous profits made due to the 'scare'. This one has hopefully run it's course.

Swine flu claims 38 lives during past week

New Delhi, Jul 27 (PTI) The swine flu virus, which has been on a resurgent course since the beginning of monsoons, tightened its grip over the country during the past week with 38 deaths being reported from various parts.Maharashtra bore the brunt during the week (July 19 to July 26) reporting 18 cases. Kerala reported the second maximum number of 8 cases.Five deaths were reported from Karnataka, two from Delhi and one from Karnataka. One was reported from West Bengal and two from Gujarat.Swine flu cases have seen an upward surge since the onset of monsoons.All the 548 cases reported during the week are indigenous cases.Till date, samples from 14,9077 persons have been tested for swine flu in government laboratories and a few private laboratories across the country and 34,669 (23.2 per cent) of them have been found positive.

Nothing. There is no suitable solutions for car crashes - where would the profits or greater powers come from?

Even if there was a scare campaign it wouldn't fly. They need something new and scary. A more apt comparison than car crashes: reference our 'war on terror', it's associated laws granting dictatorship powers, and monster profits for military industrial complex.
The reaction was way out of proportion to the risk. If they were to be consistent in comparison to regular flu which is far more widespread and kills far more they would be quarantining people off on islands if they got Influenza A virus.

If our esteemed leaders spent the money they blew on big pharmas innoculations (various govs bought that many that 70,000,000 are already out of date and are to be incinerated) on general health care/hospitals legion more would be alive (but less profit generated).

Gov control 101: scare the crap out of everyone, wait for them to huddle together and demand a 'solution', freely implement something which would otherwise have your head on a pike.
You don't think big business lobby gov and support election campaigns to the tune of hundreds of millions out of nothing more than a sense of community do you?
 
Swine Flu is different to seasonal flu in that it is worldwide, as opposed to localized. It is not a figment of the imagination or part of a tin-foil hat "scare campaign". You only have to look at the spanish flu of 1919 to see the potential devestation that could've happened...and still might. The second wave is just starting now.

I repeat I don't doubt that it's not a figment of the imagination - in fact I've read somewhere that over 18,000 have died from this strain - but I guess we will have to agree to disagree regarding the 'scare campaign' - tin hat or not - when judged alongside other dangers such as regular flu.
It's a shame colloidal silver can not be patented because there already exists a simple, natural, and effective solution. We could have saved a great deal of unnecessary panic, maybe some lives also.

There's a few Yanks from October/November you should talk to, if you could. IIRC swine flu paediatric death rate > 5 times seasonal flu. 90% of seasonal flu deaths > 65 year old, compared to 90% of swine flu deaths < 65 years old.

That's a fairly interesting stat I wasn't aware of, however I (with three young kids) truly have no personal concerns whatsoever about swine flu - refer to my second paragraph.

It's not swine flu I have issue with, rather the supposed helplessness.

There would be no vaccines - regardless of death rate - if the companies made no profit producing them. For right or wrong corporations exist for one reason only. There is no need for anyone to die if they inform themselves rather than simply listen to these guys and the policymakers who owe them favours.

I can't remember where I read it but out of the 100 largest economic entities, 51 are corporations. They are wielding ever greater power over the ones who would regulate them.

Trish Keenan, singer for the British electronic pop group Broadcast, has died of pneumonia. She was 42. Keenan had been in a British hospital with a strain of the H1N1 flu and died Friday after two weeks in intensive care, according to her record label Warp Records.

She was a founding member of the band, which came together in Birmingham in 1995 and developed a strong following in indie circles. Albums included Work and Non-Work, Tender Buttons and The Noise Made By People.

IIRC the mutated strain was first found late in our season last year. It looks like the extent of the mutations mean that the current flu vax and previous exposure/immunity don't work.

Roads, electricity, water and gas were once provided by government at cost. Government also funded and built a railway across the breadth of Australia once - without one cent of debt I might add, but that was another era.

Yes. I don't claim to understand the science, however from memory it is somehow supposed to asphyxiate bacteria/virus - this perhaps being the reason mutations don't affect efficacy.
I first bought a bottle, in hope and desperation more than anything else, after starting on my umpteenth different antibiotic course for a chronic, persistent and debilitating chest infection (over six months) about three years ago. I took a swig immediately whilst still in the shopping centre and within a matter of minutes noted crap starting too loosen up in my chest and throat. That infection vanished (almost) completely within a matter of days.

Not only did it clear my infection, my sinuses, which would often (almost daily) cause my eyes to feel as if they were going to shoot out of my head, vanished. In three years, despite being susceptible to all manner of colds, bugs and flu all my life I have not had a sniffle. Go figure.

Keep in mind, for the reasons I explained earlier there will not be a large amount of 'accredited' studies (In USA armed raids are performed on premises whose website makes any medical claims on CS).

Also keep in mind that while I stated in previous post I have personal proof that it is effective, asking at any hospital will confirm they use bandages lined with silver for serious burns victims to stave off infection.

Lastly keep in mind I have no reason to 'push' CS. Although I now make it myself I do not sell it (I recommend buying rather than making it until you understand the importance of purity in both water and silver ie: no tap water and only use 99.999% pure silver). Simply hoping to help others and informing of my experience in response to a thread concerning a serious yet easily dealt with virus.

Will try and find some info (and also answer Sloths queries) and post shortly.


Edit: post above mine appeared before I finished this post. refer to need for purity in this post. this guy admits he used tap water then added salts to help speed up the process - and still claims he's been so healthy since using it he would do it again knowing the result - I wouldn't. would rather cough and wheeze than look like that (i did my due diligence before i started using it - and still took tiny amounts for many months so as not to turn into a smurf. Now I have half a glass a day - hundreds of litres in total and have a lovely complexion if I say so myself:cool:). Also as explained earlier CS not an establishment favourite and the same three cases are used in tens of thousands of articles/videos/webpages to scare the huddled masses onto their chemical solutions, despite almost every health food shop selling this stuff for yonks and thousands of people using it for long periods.

...three mechanisms of deactivation that silver utilizes to incapacitate disease causing organisms. They are:

1) Catalytic Oxidation

Silver, in its atomic state, has the capacity to absorb oxygen and act as a catalyst to bring about oxidation. Atomic (nascent) oxygen absorbed onto the surface of silver ions in solution will readily react with the sulfhydryl (-S-H) groups surrounding the surface of bacteria or viruses to remove the hydrogen atoms (as water), causing the sulfur atoms to form an R-S-S-R bond; blocking respiration and causing the bacteria to expire. Employing a simple catalytic reduction/oxidation reaction, colloidal silver will react with any negative charge presented by the organism's transport or membrane proteins and deactivate them.

2) Reaction with Bacterial Cell Membranes

There is evidence that silver ions attach to membrane surface radicals of bacteria, impairing cell respiration and blocking its energy transfer system. One explanation is based on the nature of enzyme construction: Specific enzymes are required for a given biochemical activity to take place. Enzyme molecules usually require a specific metallic atom as part of the molecular matrix in order to function. A metal of higher valance can replace a metal of lower valance in the enzyme complex, preventing the enzyme from functioning normally. Silver, with a valance of plus 2, can replace many metals with a lower, or equal valance that exhibit weaker atomic bonding properties.

3) Binding with DNA

Studies by C.L. Fox and S.M. Modak with pseudomonas aeruginosa, a tenacious bacteria that is difficult to treat, demonstrated that as much as 12% of silver is taken up by the organism's DNA. While it remains unclear exactly how the silver binds to the DNA without destroying the hydrogen bonds holding the lattice together, it nevertheless prevents the DNA from unwinding, an essential step for cellular replication to occur.

Since silver kills only bacteria that is anaerobic or nitrogen breathing, the friendly bacteria in the digestive tract are immune to it due to the fact that they are oxygen breathing, (aerobic).
