Our forward line is disfunctional and our backline is starting to resemble and old person's home. So far tonight the swans have dictated terms and have highlighted some major problems. I can't see us doing much damage at all in the finals. Prove me wrong people! With so much talent we are playing absolute CRAP football!! We have definately lost the hunger!!

Re: We're screwed

the swans are flooding our forward line so it is not going to be big score tonight. The backline has been OK, Midfield has been good. I think you are over reacting myself. This is the team that lost to St Kilda by 1 point, not a dud team at all.

SJ clearly injured so why play him? WTF?

Ch10 just showed some footage of SJ in pre-game warm and was clearly not 100%. WTF is going on with our footy club and player management. Who makes the decisions whether they play or not?

Geelong Sydney Game

Good start by both teams.

Points of interest-

FIRST QUARTER

Sydneys 2 goals in the first quarter should not have been paid as they had their hands in our back both times.

Blake keeps looking at the man instead of going for the ball

Corey Enright is AA

SECOND QUARTER

After watching the seconds game I do not think Ottens will come up. The only way Blake will stay in is if Mumford can not carry the load

Isolate Gary in the forward 50 more often

Hawkins will make it

Scarlett is rusty

THIRD QUARTER

Mooney is a liability

Hawkins is good

Blake is not mobile enough

Vozzo needs glasses

Re: Sydney Post Match Dicussion Thread

I believe I did say that the Swans were dictating the terms. Good clubs such as St Kilda don't allow the other teams to do this. They blow them away with fast flowing footy. Several times the commentators were saying the boys were standing still and we're looking mega slow. Hey I'd be happy to be proved wrong guys and we go on to kill them by 10 goals but I aint seeing anything inspiring.

Re: We're screwed

Umpires aren't helping either. Scarlo touches a ball that's paid a mark to White, which he goaled from.

Varcoe runs past a pack being held by the arm. No free kick. A Sydney player gets tackled, disposes of the ball incorrectly, and the umpire calls for a ball up. Ten seconds later, Ablett bursts away from the pack, gets tackled, handballs the ball, but gets pinged.

I don't mind it if the umpires are consistent in their interpretations, but they're so inconsistent it's not funny.

Why is this guy back in the side? He looks slow and robotic.

I reckon throw Hawkins in the ruck to help out Mummy and replace Blake with Vegas.

The Saints were not dictating terms when they played the swans a few weeks back. They nearly lost.

This game is a big improvement on last weeks crap. I agree there is still room for improvement, but I like what I have seen so far tonight overall. Much more positive play.

Re: We're screwed

Been a pretty intense match so far. Glad to see Ablett playing well, he's right there in the contests and great second and third efforts. Enright's been fantastic as usual.

We all know the umps are beyond a joke and are a lost cause. Nothing will change this! Our boys have to rise above the umps and play our usual free flowing footy and we can do this even if the swans try to flood. It's a matter of our boys keeping on running like we usually do in waves. Standing and not running is not gonna do it.

Re: We're screwed

Cats again missing shots at very gettable goals...thats why we are losing at this stage..

Get rid of Varcoe and Hawkins. I would rather play two short than have these two muppets mess up every forward thrust.

What do we have to do to get a free kick for holding the man? I've seen three incidents in the space of five minutes where a Geelong player has been scragged without the ball, and hasn't got a thing for it (Ablett and Scarlett in a pack, and Selwood after handballing the ball along the line).

Pathetic umpiring. :thumbsd:

Yep noticed quite a few holding the man free kicks we should've gotten. But Sydney's doing a great job of smothering us in mid to half-forward areas.
