How are your key position players doing atm??? Anyone disgruntled? :D

And for the record I don't think either Jason Cloke or Rocca should have been suspended.

Never - why should they be disgruntled at giving away a premiership CHF??

Still both sides won out of the trade as you said, we got the KP Forward we needed to win a Premiership and you got a draft pick which you used to turn into Dal Santo who'll provide many years of top quality service and who knows maybe even a premiership or two if you can get your act together in September.

Also don't forget that Hall rejected a larger offer from Carlton to go to Sydney so the Swans didn't win him over purely with a large amount of cash as so many like to believe.

Whatever helps you sleep at night. If you'd given away Hamill or Kozi instead you might have a flag.

Re: 4 months later and im still wondering HOW Barry Hall played in last years Grand Final

If they hadn’t given away Everitt they WOULD have a flag IMO.

Not sure about that, Everitt at St.Kilda was anything but premiership material, I think he needed the change to take stock of his career, it worked out well for both the saints and spider imo.

It was reported that blues actually offered hall about $500k a season so therefore we didn't steal him he simply wanted to get out of melbourne!

Hall was never stolen. His time was up at the Saints and probably Melbourne.

Sydney got a replacement for Lockett and we got Dal Santo while others drafted Richard Cole before him. ;)

Hall, unlike that trash Everitt has never bad mouthed his former club.

As for the Saints winning the flag with Everitt, he was at the club in 1997. He was a disruptive influence and was moved on to where he worked his magic and got the hawks a wooden spoon.

A cultural cancer, and he would have ensured the likes of Goddard, Dal Santo, Ball, Riewoldt and Kosi left the Saints because of his bad influence.

On that note who was a bigger loss Everitt or Hall?

Tony Lockett

If you put personality differences aside, inserting Everitt back into the 2005/6 Saints line-up would be more beneficial to St Kilda than inserting Hall in, you'd think.

A top class ruckman would make a big difference, while a top class forward less so, given Gehrig, Riewoldt et al. The only possible bonus to the Saints of Hall back in their side would maybe be to move Gehrig back to defence, where he was very effective for a while.

But I wonder whether he has the fitness to play in defence any more. As a forward he is certainly still good enough to dictate how the duel pans out, whereas in defence he'd be run around by the likes of Brown, Hall and Tredrea.

General question, when have Hawthorn won the wooden spoon?

Is there anything more amusing than a St Kilda supporter's attempt to rationalise Something? :)

Carlton offered $500K
Sydney offered $650K

Sydney could offer that much due to extra salary cap space

Given who our president was at the time, we should have offered more;)

No, no there isn't. :)

That attempt was the lamest argument I've ever seen on Bigfooty and they've made a lot of lame arguments.

******** me, Saints supporters sure know how to WHINGE!!

After all they have got, would you really start a new thread about this??

What more do you want??

How about the AFL decress that the previous years premiership coach has to coach the Saints until your draft picks can snaffle a flag?

FFS!!

Hall isn't even on 500k with the Swans so your reported offer is wide of the mark and it widely known he knocked back larger offers to move North.

Anyway we don't even use that extra room in the cap, so it means little at the end of the day.
