Tackling the tackling issue, how do we resolve the issue?

The AFL is its own worst enemy with their refusal to instruct the umpires to pay holding the ball.

You can nail someone in an absolutely perfect tackle, they get swung 720 and dispose of it and it's play on. You can have them locked down, but you aren't allowed to bring them to ground anymore for fear of slamming them into the turf - so they get a disposal away.

If you get nailed in a tackle, you should have half a second or so to get rid of it. If you can't - holding the ball.

Tackle injuries usually happen because they've got someone wrapped up and they won't go down, so the tackler puts a bit more into bringing them down.

Reward the tackler.
