Well Watson's a monty for the WC.

Would've been more interesting if Symonds wasnt injured.

No surprises in Clark out and Watson in.

Very dumb to leave Tait out, when the final pace spot is between him and Clark. Clark has been tested, Tait needs to be given a couple more chances.

The World Cup squad has to be selected before Australias next match, so it doesn't matter if Tait gets another chance to show what he's got or not.

Um...yeh, look, you really shouldn't comment on cricket at all.

The World Cup 13 should be:

Gilchrist
Hayden
Ponting
Clarke
Hodge
Hussey
White
Lee
Johnson
Tait
McGrath

Clark
Hogg

In my opinion, this is the perfect mix. Lee and Tait as the express paceman, McGrath and Johnson as the backup fast men, with White and Clarke bowling their handy spin to tie up ends. Hogg is there if a specialist spinner is required, in which case would replace White (but White has shown enough to be ahead of Hogg at 7).

Shane Watson has simply not done enough to warrant selection. I'm baffled by it. I have no problems with playing the genuine allrounder to replace Symonds - but the allrounder has to be good enough. Bracken is dead unlucky too in my team... it's him or Clark.

Your missing Nathan Bracken, and Watson is more than good enough.

As I added after my initial post, Nathan Bracken or Stuart Clark could be used as another bowler. And Watson is potentially good enough - but hasn't shown enough, in my opinion, to warrant World Cup selection. The same could be said about Hodge and Tait too, but I think they would be the better additions.

he hasn't been good enough lately. It's not our fault, if his body can't stand the riggers of International cricket

That's garbage. If he's back to near full fitness then he's good enough based on his form leading up the injury. He was close to leading on the One Day votes board last night before his injury.

OK, I will do my 15 (rather than 13) to keep the ladies on here happy.

Gilchrist
Hayden
Ponting
Clarke
Hodge
Hussey
White
Lee
Johnson
Tait
McGrath

Clark
Hogg
Hilfenhaus
Batsman... undecided yet

Watson would have to be taking either Hodge or Whites spot.....unless they are going to rest a batsman for the final!
