The ability to enjoy training and a bit more self discipline would have been fantastic during my teenage years.

Played baseball with and against some guys who have been drafted by Major League teams, some of which I was as good as or even better than at the time. Who knows where I could have gone with that.

Whistle! Would kill the General Discussion board in a second to learn how to whistle.

Numerous

Would like to be better (not elite or anything, just better) at certain aspects of both cricket and soccer. Would love to have better vision and awareness in soccer, rather than just playing off blind instinct as i tend to.

Would like to be a better guitarist than I am

Overall would love to have better focus, my studying etc is terrible because im far too easily distractable.

After watching the video posted in the 'Things you do/did that you probably think no one else does' thread, I wish I was a sick pen spinner.

I might put some serious practice into this actually, would look so cool to just pick up a pen and start spinning it like you're not even trying.

I wish I was one of those guys who's just great at English.

Like public speaking, small presentations, report writing etc

They seem to just have such a wide vocabulary and be able to put everything so eloquently. Makes everything sound so impressive.....

Fear not, my good man! With many an hour of hard graft you may grasp the intricacies and delicacies of the English language, so that you might convey any idea with the utmost of clarity, conciseness and conviction. This to you will come, should you so commit, and I assure you, such an endeavour will bring nothing but good fortune and reward. Get to work! You, like me, will be sounding like a w***er in no time!

As for me, a second (and third, fourth, fifth, etc) language would be ideal. Started teaching myself Spanish a little while ago, but nobody else I know speaks it, and so I had nobody to practice with, so I stopped. Then I started teaching myself French, because most of my good friends speak ****ing French and I'm sick of them having conversations that I can't understand, but then I decided the pronunciation was too difficult, wanted to start with something easier. Then I started German, but I only know a couple of people who speak it, it's a bit boring, and I would have more fun speaking French than German. Now I can't decide! :(

Also, would love to have been great at sports. I've always been kind of good, and I at one point looked like I might be something special with cricket (not international level or anything, but maybe a very handy grade cricketer or something), culminating in playing the match of my life, bowling what the umpire described as the best spell of schoolboy bowling he'd seen in his entire life, and he'd been around for a WHILE. But, I never recaptured that, I was never able to get consistent, and I've always seemed to struggle with muscle-memory (rather than just get better with practice, I get better with practice and then after a while I suddenly start getting worse and lose it all). Then, when I made a return to cricket last year, in one week I was bowling outswingers that consistently nipped back off the seam, and I was able to control it. For two net sessions, I was literally unplayable. Best I've ever bowled, ever. The game that weekend, I took two wickets with two horrible deliveries in the first over, and went for 27 the next over. Never got it back.

So yeah, I'd love to amplify my decent sports ability, and sprinkle in some semblance of consistency and normal muscle-memory.

Speaking a second language fluently. Regret giving up German in school now, I was able to speak all the basics but now I've forgotten most of it.

Play guitar, I bought a cheap one for $200 a few years back and have only touched it a few times. I am thinking of getting into it though.

Whistling with the fingers in the mouth would be awesome too.

Being able to burp at will, being able to speak another language fluently.

I used to want to learn the everybody loves raymond piano bit at the end.

Always wanted, but never have learned the piano. I have long fingers too and some sort of musical background so it's just lazyness.

Hold a note consistently. If I learnt the mechanics of it I imagine I'd become fairly competent (well competent enough to win karaoke comps at pubs), but it's not something that eats away at me enough to do something about.

I wish I could tell if someone was going to give me a wave when I give way to them on a side street. I've slammed on the anchors that many times, gone behind a parked car to let someone through only to not even get a wave! Wouldn't stop if I knew the car coming in the opposite direction was going to be a twat.

Cooking and piano (epic long fingers) are pretty much the only things I'd like to have. The French language would be handy to have before I head over there in October as well.

The ability to draw well

The ability to do more 'handyman' tasks around the house (this comes due to a lack of motivation... I'd rather just pay someone that is qualified to do it).

The ability to sing well

I think you need to have a significant amount of natural talent for the first and third ones, and then practice will enable you to maximise your potential. Unfortunately, my drawing and singing talents are nil :thumbsd:
