You should have let Patton and Coniglio slip to 33 and 38 respectively. Who do you barrack for?

Ellis at 45 hey. How come you've got him that low?

Ellis turned out to be the slider.

Was looking at him with on of the Geelong picks and St Kilda picks.

Also considered @ North P.40 but had Docherty with there P.18.

I think he could be a good player.....great value @ p.45.

Also good value: Tom Sheridan @ p.51, Clay Smith p.58, Elliot Yeo p.66, Shane Nelson p.49

Kerridge is too low.

Ellis at 45 surely won't happen.

Bussey's had a poor year for a guy with his talent, I'd be pretty disappointed with that pick.

We also need to focus on defenders and key defenders in particular, and another ruck possibly also.

If the draft went the way you've listed we'd probably take Ellis or Kerridge, Paine, Schade or maybe Downie, Yeo's fine value with the last.

I would expect Buntine to go to the Lions at 8 if he is there... I think he's worth it, and Voss apparently rates the guy.

For me Pick 8 was best available: Sumner vs Buntine and i dont think Lions could pass up on Sumner. Will be a very good, quick midfielder!!!!

Add Tomilson @ p.12 - Key position Player and i highly rate brody Brody Mihocek from Tasi.

Mihocek could play a similar role to Buntine would. Both very good readers of the play. 3rd Tall in Defence.

Buntine - 189cm, 84 kg
Mihocek - 191cm, 86kg

Its up to Hadley who we pick, not Voss. Hadley has taken risks before and could do again.

True, but at the same time, I'm sure Hadley, Kerr and Voss all sit down and discuss the clubs needs/wants. And if Voss says 'I like X and think he'd do well here', you'd think that'd bump him up their lists by a point or two...

See, that's why i love these phantom drafts - always interesting to see the differing opinions...

Personally, I agree - best available at 8... But I think Buntine is miles better than Sumner...

As I understand it, Mihocek will be a 3rd tall, playing similar to Staker's roll in Brisbane (primarily in the backs, but able to slot forward if necessary). Buntine is a half back who will end up running through the mids in a Goddard like role... Very different players in my books.

If we passed on Ellis and McKenzie @ pick 40 I'd probably put a brick through my TV.

Staker is ageing and wont play in 2012 and possibly some of 2013 and he will be close to 29 then. We have Lester,Karnezis Cornelius(Potential KPP) as our younger 3rd talls.

I will be re-visiting my draft when Second List Lodgement is done with. Ellis & Kerridge will have to sneak up the order but not sure where.

With the first two geelong picks P.32, P34 i can see Crozier and Paine being very good additions to your FWD line with Steve J, Pods, Hawkins and Hopefully M.Brown if/when he can get fit.

Pure_Ownage - Geelong not interested in Crozier??

And Retzlaff and Lisle...

Don't see why this would prevent us from taking Buntine. We aren't exactly swimming in talls, but we've still got a few with ~5 years to go... and we don't have to get every need this draft - we can draft next year, and the year after, and so on... I think, no matter what, pick 8 has to be Best Available for the Lions... Buntine is a good half back/mid, who could be a leader for years. We could do with another half back, and the best other options are Docherty and Forster (both of whom we would be significantly overpaying with pick 12, and won't get at 30). It's solid, and suits us well...

I'm finding it interesting reading a lot of your posts Cotter... I differ quite heavily from your viewpoints... which is nothing against you - quite the opposite, I find it interesting seeing your thoughts, which i find original (oftentimes, these forums don't have a whole lot of that).

Retzlaff ans Lisle are most likely to become KP players if anything, I was talking about Brodie Michoeck.(I would heavily consider Buntine at 8 if he was there)

Forster and Docherty I would rate close to of just above Buntine. I have Forster going at 12 to us, I have no problem going best available at 8.

I am actually finding yours fairly interesting to, and seem to disagree with most of them, Every person has their own opinion and that's what we are doing. Also nothing against you.

Ah, in that case, no issue at all. I rate Mihocek too, and would be happy with him at 30... he is a reasonable chance to get there, so could be a good pick up for us...

Wouldn't be happy with Forster at 12 though...:p
