This kid is slowly improving, but I don't think he will ever be the champion we thought when he was drafted.

Yesterday should have been a blue ribbon day for him in those types of conditions, but he was found wanting.

His body is underdeveloped and not strong enough.
He's not even that quick.
He hasn't got great decision making skills.
His kicking is ordinary.
It's easy to break his tackles.
And he's in & out of the game.

He's played enough games now and been given enough opportunities to show his supposed class, but it's just not happening.

Is it time we admit this kid is not what we thought he was going to be???

Not willing to Write him off yet. He possess's alot of talent and will make an impact , these type of players take a while although it is frustrating.

Best example is Neon Leon from Collingwood. It took him 6 years to play consistant footy and has done so for 4 years now. Stick with him , he has more upside than Leon and Leon played in the all star game last week

Tambling is going alright mate. It's obvious he is still being kept on cotton wool and once he is given full midfield duties we will see his worth.

Since when did we think Tambling was going to be a superstar? He has played 61 matches and has improved every year. I think the club would be happy with his progress.

Must admit I thought yesterday he would shine, but pretty poor game. but still improving all the same.

Tambo obviously isn't the out and out star that he was touted as being on draft day but can still be a very damaging player. Just struggles to find consistency which is frustrating as a supporter. His work in and under is good at times, but still lacks polish.

going alright though:thumbsu:

I will admit Tambling didn't star yesterday but his courage when he dived on the ball and his tackling was very good

Terry, seriously the 2 bits I have highlighted go hand in hand, if he can bulk up enough then his tackles will stick even more. He is alot bigger now than when he first came to the club so I am confident he will continue to get bigger.

He isnt that bad at tackling, if im not mistaken he would go close to being our leading tackler, the problem he has is when the opposition run directly at him and he needs to tackle front on.

As for saying he isnt quick, did you watch his run down on Selwood yesterday? I believe he ran him down and caught him, he even got a free kick for it. Speed is his asset, he is still quick so I will disagree with you there.

His kicking lets him down when he tries those pussy little 20 meter stab passes, he stuffs them up, put him 40 meters out and he has a very accurate kick on him.

He is progressing IMO, I am prefering this years Richie to previous years, cant wait to see him continue his improvement over the next few years because it will happen.

If your expecting him to become a "Buddy Franklin" type of freak, your going to be continually disappointed because that just wont happen ever.

Give the kid a break.

You guys are pathetic. Jump off players after one poor match.

Agree Sante.

I thought Tambling had a good game.

Just because he missed that open goal doesn't mean he is a bad player.

The play leading up to that goal shot was terrific.

The bloke made some terrific handballs in congested areas that hit the target because of his speed of thinking in those situations.

The blokes only 20/21?

Give the bloke a break please.

tambling was poor, and gave selwood to much space. he still rushes his shot when running into a open goal and need to learn how to compose himself.

How can anyone say the game yesterday was suited to Tambling style. As mentioned his body needs a couple kgs and one of his assets is his speed all this makes it much harder for him to perform at his best in the wet.

Had an excellent season to date. Chance Bateman took 9 years to play 100 games. You are having a lend of us - aren't you?

yup he should be able to kick 7 goals a game, get 50+possesions, and at least make 20+tackles by now. what a DUD.

Once again we should all jump on a young player after a below average game.

Morton was drafted the same year but he was poor after quartertime. Delist him now.

Reiwoldt didnt do enough. Its time to cut our losses now. 2 years is more then enough time to prove yourself.

You could go on.

Or we could accept the fact that it was Raining yesterday, we were playing the best team in the comp who are a lot bigger physically then us and fitter and we faded after half time.

As for saying tambling isnt quick thats a joke his run down on selwood was awesome and he went stride for stride with wojcinski.

Not to mention growing up in the heat of the NT!

1 bad game out of 8 and everyone jumps off.

Wet, cold weather isnt his type of football.

totally agree....tambling's had a good season thus far.......sure..not his best game yesterday possession wise...mainly due to the conditions...but still mighty impressed with his efforts..esp the tackle on selwood.....should have had 2 goals...shame he missed the one running at the goal...but at least he worked himself into position to take the shot..

i think some ppl just can't wait for tambling to have a subpar game and punce like crazy...

all u so called tiger supporters and tambling bashers should all grow up or f off

ffs, he is having his best yr for us and as soon as he puts in a below average game in very below average conditions, you all head for your putch forks

if you dont like him f off and join the the hawks, but im a tiger and will defend this kid to the bone

only if some of our bigger bodied players had one ounce of tamblings courage

ffs listen to all u whinging w***ers

You guys mustn't watch the same games as I do.

Tambling's vision in and under packs is as good as anyones in the teams, including Axel's.

He does mar his performances with a clanger or two (like running into the open goal and missing), but all in all I feel he has often been the spark that has got us going in several matches. His pace and directional change almost always mesmerize the opposition. All he needs is everyone to stop comparing him with Franklin once and for all. It is not helping him or the team. Why is it so hard to work out that we cannot reverse the past so it's no use dwelling on it?

If supporters on this board TRULY love the Richmond Football Club, they would get behind Tambo and support him and not berate him. It's the only way to move forward.

It would be so nice to go just one week in here without someone starting a 'bag Tambling' thread. FFS, just go to page 2 and post to one of the many from last week.:thumbsd: Then you will see just how much of a broken record it is becoming. Yaaaaaawn.
