Recommitted Tarryn Thomas [OOC 2024] - Staying at North

Usually when a player is contracted it gives his team a little more power at the trade table (not that contracts are worth the paper they are written on these days).

However, in this case it’s the opposite. Not only will a club have to take a gamble on TT and all his baggage, but they will also need to take on his significant contract for next year (unless North contribute significantly). That will knock his price down even further.

Assuming he does want out… if I were north, I’d pay half his contract elsewhere if we got a pick or player we wanted out of it.
After all, it’s quite unclear how we’re even going to reach the salary floor this year.

This is just AFLPA nonsense that the worse list in the league is being paid 95% of the best lists.

TT? Good luck with offloading him and his problems elsewhere.

What’s the pick / player you would want out of it?

You wouldn’t get Flanders or pick 5.

They were rumored to be shopping Mac Andrew earlier in the year after his Drink Driving charge, has been suspended by the club for missing recovery sessions since.

Could be an option.

Yeah think you'll be struggling there as he's started playing and doing well,

You won't get anything of value for Tarryn his off filed issues are deplorable

What does playing well have to do with anything? Thomas has been playing well.

Andrew has major off field issues also.

Drink driving is not even remotely as bad the issues Tarryn has towards woman,

Tarryn has also been fairly average not well on field had some good games then some like the weekend where he only had 10 touches against the worst team in the comp

You would be surprised I think at how some clubs are willing to look past TT's past behaviour tbh

Anyhow he seems to have pulled his head in (for now) and playing some good footy for North.

They'll turn a blind eye and recruit him I have no question about that however they won't trade anything remotely of value for him due to them which is the point most of the North fans here can't seem to grasp

I think most North fans seem to grasp it.

What's annoying is fans who clearly haven't watched a single minute of his play this year passing comment. Unless you tuck into the side on a 17 game losing streak each week for shits and giggles?

Thomas has been excellent since returning, would easily be in the top 3-4 in our B&F votes in the period.

Well that's something I agree with.

It is a massive risk obvious, but if TT can actually keep his behaviour in check (a lot it seems stems from alcohol usage) he would be a real bargain for his next club.

If I was a North fan, I would honestly prefer to keep him and back Clarko to keep him disciplined and focused on his footy career.

Understandable though if TT wants a fresh start elsewhere.

Have him in my supercoach so you'd be wrong watched him very closely,

He has had the odd few games where he has done well however he's also had his fair share like the weekend where he is playing on ball and can't get near it,

Being top 3/4 in a team that's lost 17 straights BnF isn't the selling point you think it is not that I think he is anyway

Mate I have 7 week old baby. Got nothing to do but watch footy on the weekends.

Dunno, I think there'd be a fair market for Sheezel, LDU and Larkey personally.

Yes there would as they don't have the off field issues but also they are clearly top 3 in your BnF Thomas isn't in fact you could argue he isn't top 10 as he has only played 8 games

Yeah that's ridiculous. Just because you play for a shit team doesn't make you a bad player / hold less value.

The same goes for an average player in a premiership team - doesn't increase your value all of a sudden.

I'd much rather LDU than Brandan Parfitt.

Agree. His on field form has been overstated by north supporters since his return.

Averaging 18 disposals and a goal a game in the middle in a side with not much competition for spots is average at best.

He was playing half back a bit early too which has inflated those numbers more with the cheap ball he was getting

X factor player who has potential however there is no value at all

He went there in the bulldogs/Geelong/GWS games that I saw he has only played 8

He didn't play at half back against GWS.

If he did, he broke some kind of record considering he attended 62% CBA's, had 19 disposals, kicked 3 goals, had 6 clearances and 7 score involvements and was named North's best on ground....

You’re right. Drink driving has never affected millions of people’s lives
