TD's Thought's on Beating CARLTON

Pro's:

  • Ball Playing Well
  • Dominated There Midfield
  • Dawes having a Good Game on Jamison
  • N Brown and Reid doing very well at CHB and FB
  • Steele having a Good Game

Cons:

  • Cloke's Terrible Goal Kicking
  • Terrible Umpires
  • Welligham Injury

Bally played very well today. He's had 2 excellent games against the cheats.

Pick 30....what a pick-up! Wouldn't st.blunda love to have him now? No one to help out Lenny Hayes now.

Ball has made a difference for both clubs collingwood and st.kilda... I wonder who Gold Coast will take from st.kilda? Hopefully a classy midfielder- maybe a montagna.

Probaly N.Brown will make way for Presti.

Ball Back to his Pre-Injury Days

Is it me or he seems to be moving a lot better and his Kicking has Improved since the Start of the Year and Also had 28 Touches last week vs CARLTON.

You Agree?

kicking is still suspect but his ball winning ability and toughness in the contest is sensational.

I don't know if he is back to his pre injury days but his kicking certainly has improved. Earlier this year he was struggling to kick 40, but his shot for goals the last few weeks have easily cleared 50, and he did a long kick into the forward line against Carlton that IMO went about 60.

Still not as quick as he used to be, but I'm very pleased we have him. Great player.

Also Dave, you bagged Travis' kicking for goal (and rightly so after 2/3 gimmes) but you should have included his 8 contested marks in the Pros'

8 contested marks is a magnificent effort by any forward. If that was Reiwoldt, Franklin or Brown that would have been comparing them to the Duck again.

Well if he does not Finsh Them Off then they are not a Big as Help as if he Kicked the Goals

I wouldn't agree with that completely just yet.

He still doesn't have the explosive speed or the kicking penetration yet.

He is kicking 45-50m now which is a good step, far better 35-40m which many St Kilda supporters were thinking. Probably was going 40-45m earlier this season, so I guess he is making some progress. But still not back to how he was early in his career speed + penetration wise.

But the things he is doing is putting his body in everything and going for the hard balls and comming out with it which is exactly what he was drafted for. Has been fantastic so far and has certainly lived up to expectations. :thumbsu:

Ball will never get back to his pre injury days. He will never get his speed back. His kicking has an additional 5 - 10 metres on it. I am just happy he shed the red from his guernsey. Has been a sensational pick up and exactly what we needed in the middle. Same goes for Jolly. He has shown in the last 6 - 8 weeks what he can do. How many times does he knock it straight to Pendles.

Ball as an individual may never be quiet as explosive as his pre-injury days but his willingness to focus on his role for the team and completely play that role means I think in terms of overall value to his team he is in as good a form as he ever has been.

We Can Just About Win the Minor Premiership Tomorrow Night

IF we win Tommorow Night we would just about Lock Up Minor Premirship as we would be a Game and a Half ahead of the Cats and with 3 Games to go vs Bombers Then Crows then Dawks.

So we could Win the Minor Premirship in RD 21 vs the Crows IF we beat the Pussie Cats :D
