Gorringe is going to be a fine player by all accounts, but whether essendon will go tall with their 1st pick yet again is highly debateable. especially if they have decent mids on the table.

Interested to hear your reasoning behind Watson to the Tigers.

Was 1 of the Footy Shows on the Weekend saying the Tiger need a good Tall Defender

Good work, would like to see some of the reasons behind selctions.

On Melbourne, I'm starting to think Lynch is going past Cook. Has a heap of upside, and is averaging almost 3 goals a game at TAC level.

Really that's odd...I wonder which show it was because we have a surplus of them at the moment.

Thursfield, Moore, McGuane, Astbury, Gourdis, Grimes and to a lesser extent Rance.

Our main needs at the club in my opinion are outside midfielders, Tall and small forwards and Ruckmen.

I think we'll end up with one of Gaff, Polec, Atley, Gorringe or Lynch.

Darcy Barden at pick 25 saddens me :(

Interesting you have Atley + Gorringe outside of the top 6. Watson I would be a little surprised to see in the top 6.

Brisbane I think are fine with ruckman. Leuenberger + Clarke is strong, then McCauley off the rookie list is another good one. A agree Lycett is good enough to go top 10, just not sure about the demand for ruckman though. Essendon might look at him at 8, but more likely Adelaide/ Port Adelaide take him.

Dyson Heppell is much lower than he probably should be for mine. Little surprised to see him once again rated as low as he is.

Certainly I think this will be a fair bit closer than attempt no.1

A more thorough one after trade week and draft combine

Why is That Knight? I reckon he be a Chance at Pick 25 and his BOG in the Finals on the Weekend will help appeal to Collingwood as we like big game players

Barden reminds me of Serhat Temel of last years draft in a few ways. Had a fantastic finals series also. Had buckets for hands and could kick goals. Like Barden was just a natural footballer. But both lack athleticism and fit under the classification of natural footballer but not natural athlete. I think the draft combine will hurt him, to what extent we will find out, but I see him as more of a late-rookie prospect (even if he keeps performing in big games).

The concern with big guys like Barden is "will they be able to physically handle players at AFL level in the way they will at U18 level?" Tom Hawkins years ago dominated but his play never translated to the extent that many including myself had hoped. Just don't see Barden as a guy who will be all that high on team lists because I don't think that will transfer over the AFL level. I see him as really just a big bodied depth forward.

Hard worker, plays with heart and wants to become an AFL player. I think he will get drafted, but I'd say 1st round would have to be a little beyond his capabilities.

For Collingwood he would just go straight into depth and I don't see him having an impact within the next 3 years which will be no good to us.

With this draft order for the Pies I would without a doubt go with Jed Lamb. Davis, Medhurst and Dick are all injury prone and Lamb could play from season 1. Can push up into the midfield but we have enough midfielders and it might help release a Sidebottom or Beams into the midfield which would be great for us!

On the KPFs outside of Day, Darling, Cook and Lynch who all figure to go inside the top 25. Don't really see anything much worthwhile until the 3rd round where: Ben Brown, Thomas Gordon, Luke Mitchell, Jamie Solly, Darcy Barden and others will come into consideration.

As I have been saying on the WC board, with Sullivan being delisted and Lynch probably gone WC only have two ruckman and Cox is getting old.

Don't be surprised to see Lycett or Gorringe go @ 4.

Could be a Possiblty and did Cross My Mind but I thought at the Moment they will go with Gaff

Fair Enough with those Thoughts but with the Bigger Body against Kids. You could say the same thing about when we drafted Dawes. Those it has taken him awhile to come good.

That part I bolded will appeal to Hine. I just doubt he be there for our 2nd Round Pick

I would not Complain at all if we Draft Jed Lamb and your reasoning behind that is very good. I just think we need depth at KPP and I want to get Quality there and not High Risk High Reward KPP players late in the Draft

Well we have a late 2nd Rounder so I guess any of those Tall would be good there and Espically we go we a small like Jed Lamb

Just cant see Pot going for another tall defender. Already have Carlile, Chaplin, Trengove, Cornes, Salter and Pettigrew.

Port need mifielders or they may go Lycett if he gets to 16.

On Dawes he is a little different to Barden. Higher upside and while not athletic either still a little better. Didn't rate Dawes all that highly at the time, but the range I viewed as being around where he went.

On Hawkins/ Dawes they were worth of ND selections, certainly. But never worth 1st round selections.

Barden is more in the Serhat Temel league for mine. Ok, but not a guy like Dawes/Hawkins who could hold down a KPF post for a number of years.

I like high upside myself for KPPs, but that is just my preference and you are not wrong to like a safe bet.

For Barden depending on how keen he could be taken in probably the 2nd round. But 1st round I feel is a little too high.

I'd say he will be considered by a number of clubs, but not this high.

Fair Enough and I do like the High Upside KPF but sometimes those types don't live up to the Upside.

Fair enough on Barden saying he could go in the 2nd round and Most Likely could but Barden Could go late 1st Round. Just have to wait and see

TD's 2nd Rough 1st Round Mock Draft....

I am assuming it is your second attempt at completing the first round of the draft?

I am basically saying it's my 2nd Rough Draft of the 1st Round

Ben Newton to Freo at their first pick?

Of the WA boys, Cripps, Conca, Fasolo, Butcher, Black are ahead of him as midfielders. Cripps, Conca and Fasolo are well ahead of him. All 5 have also been doing very well in the WAFL whilst Newton is still in colts.

Freo are into Reece Conca in a big way.
