Something we can all agree on is that our kids getting slaughtered week in week out is not great for their development. What is the best possible team we could field that would have the right youth/experience balance.

FB: Pears, Fletcher, Welsh
HB: Myers, Ryder, Mcphee
C: Stanton, Lonergan, Houli
HF: Neagle, Lucas, Monfries
FF: Lovett, Lloyd, Jetta
Foll: Hille, Mcveigh, Watson
Inter: Hislop, Riemers, Laycock, NLM

Something similar to that playing about 7 kids at one time not to overload the team (instead of the 10-12 we have been playing), then rotate Bellchambers, Danniher, Dyson, Dempsey, and include Gumby when fit every 3-4 weeks.

Feel free to add your own teams

Where's Gumbleton??

Was thinking more immediate but will be in the side when he returns. Wondering if we will drop Neagle when Gumby comes back though. 4 talls in one forward line wont work, although Gumby seems to be the new 'Messiah', Neagle should be rewarded for the hard work he has put in over the last few weeks.

(Sorry, when I tried to edit my post, my computer went skitt's)

Anyway,

Gumby should be in the linup everytime he's available, so should Dempsey, Dempseys one of our best players IMO and is a really valuable player.

Myers I reaken should play more of the second half of the season because it'd be better for his development.... Or playing him every third week would work as well.

As for Neagle and Pears, they would be most usefull starting on the Bench ATM, they'd both get some gametime and will be usefull in backup roles for Offence and Defence.

As for everyone else, good form will only get you into this side.

I also can't believe Hooker hasn't got a mention, I'm not surprised either.

The soution to the 4 talls debate:

When rebounding 50:

-------------------------------------------------
-------------------Lucas------------------------
------------------------------------------------
Lovett-------------------------------------Jetta
-------------------Gumbleton-------------------
------------------------------------------------
------------------------------------------------
------------------------------------------------
------------------------------------------------
---------------Neagle---------------------------
----------------------------Lloyd---------------

With Lucas at about the centre circle, and leading wide, Gumbleton on the 50, and Lloyd and Neagle in the goal square.

Lucas provides a target for the likes of the midfielders, Fletcher, Reimers, Slattery, Welsh, McPhee etc. to kick to when there are no more handballs.

Gumbleton plays the standard CHF role.

Jetta and Lovett (or Monfries, Dempsey, Houli etc.) crumb for both Gumbleton and the two full forwards.

Neagle and Lloyd both lead inside the 50.

I forgot about Hooker but to fair he would be at the bottom of the list of KPP after Gumby, Neagle, Pears, Danniher. Im not completely sold on where Dempseys position is. Looked ok running off half back but way too unaccoutable and sometimes seemed out of his depth, yet he doesn't have the body for the centre, hopefully another preseason he will bulk up a bit.

With Big Mal struggling to get back in I wouldn't be opposed to seeing Gumby at CHB here and there.

Nothing wrong with learning how good CHF's play at AFL level and learning the pace of the game from a different perspective, plus, I'm loving the look of Neagle and want to see a lot of him as well.

Neagles' doing good, but he's not been used at all...

We're using Lloyd as if he's our only Option up forward, Jay could as easily kick bags like Lloyd did when he was young and we should start thinking about that...

And with Big Mal, ahhh is there a matchup for him this friday? We should chuck him up forward this week and just bang it into our 50 for him to body his way through the contest.

Not a bad idea as he did play alot of the champs at CHB. Could learn alot off more experienced players in a position like that.

Mal and Laycock are still not playing. Well, at least thats what Knighta hinted in his press conference.

I wonder if Laycocks the one that has been blogging around BigFooty.

Apparently the AFL player who had admitted he had done blogging on Footy Forum sites has deep depression from what he read...

In the Herald sun around a week ago they had an article on this topic and had display pictures next to the article of BigFooty and Bomberblitz along side each other as examples of the footy blogs, maybe this was a hint.

I can understand this logic for sure but I personally think that Gumby should play forward - his development has been haltered enough for me. I think we can play 4 in the forward line so long as the strucure is right. Lucas further up the ground, or maybe even gumby in that role - Neagle and Lloyd seem better suited to inside 50..

I was talking with one of my old mans mates and he said that most of the people down at windy hill rekon that apart from Ryder they rekon Neagle has the next best ammount of talent.

From what I have seen he leads to the right places, can take a good contested grab and seems to be able to kick a set shot from just outside 50.

Just thought I would add that, because he's going to be playing for us a very long time and won't be dropped I wouldn't think.

His biggest problem will be to keep himself free from injuries. Apart from that the kid will blitz bomber style :thumbsu:
