IN: Polak

OUT: Bowden

I think that against the Swans we will need a taller forward line and Polak will be able to offer that option up forward, maybe with Schulz rotating through.

Last night I felt as though Bowden went back to his old, lazy ways, twice he punched the ball in defence when he could have easily marked it, didn't kick a goal up forward, don't think he gave one off, so that is why I believe he should be out.

The ideal team set up IMO:
B: Jay Schulz, Will Thursfield, Jake King
HB: Chris Newman, Kelvin Moore, Jordan McMahon
C: Matthew Richardson, Shane Tuck, Brett Deledio
HF: Shane Edwards, Graham Polak, Kayne Pettifer
F: Nathan Brown, Jack Riewoldt, Richard Tambling
Foll: Troy Simmonds, Chris Hyde, Nathan Foley
I/C: Kane Johnson, Matt White, Trent Cotchin, Adam Pattison

Thoughts and your opinions on Ins and Outs.

Bowden wasn't too bad.
I would leave him in and give Hyde a spell and Tucky must be getting close to being dropped. I think he is almost past his use by date.
I would bring back Morton before Polak and maybe a bit of a hard nut like Jackson or Connors.

Bowden was fantastic across half forward. He was consistently trying to do the team thing evidenced by the fact that he gave the ball away inside fifty when he could've fired away over his shoulder on his left. Applied pressure and did nothing to warrant being dropped.

Whilst I'm probably about to be massively abused I was rather unhappy with Tambling's game last night, started on fire and then went missing for the rest of the game. I am yet unsure as to whether he would benefit from a week in the ressies or whether that would further dent his confidence. Needless to say I expect more than he produced last night.

Thought Schultz did enough to keep his spot next week so ultimately I'd probably go with no change unless there is a performance at coburg that warrants inclusion. (for example Connors in Tambling out).

Obviously depending on who performs in todays Coburg match:

Out:
Hyde: I'm not too hell bent on moving Hyde out of the side because I think he did a pretty good job on tagging McVeigh and Stanton last night. However, I don't think he is taller enough to go with Goodes, and hence I would drop him for match-up purposes.

Riewoldt: Probably only drop him if one of Polak, Morton, Hughes or McGuane play a really good game this afternoon. He has been okay, but he needs more time to develop as he simply isn't kicking goals in the senior team

King (inj): I think Jakey may have injured his anlke late in the game last week. If not, I would keep him in, although he did make a few errors last night - luckily Raines isn't knocking on the door.

Tucky and Tambling to get a bit of a rocket after they have both been quiet the last two weeks

Would like to see Polak go back to the ressies and force him to play a good month of footy, like bowden and pettifer. Time he earnt his spot.

As i think the opening minutes are very important in every game of football, i believe TAMBLIN set the scene early on in the game and then the rest followed:thumbsu:... sure he did drop off in the 2nd half, but as some of you to suggest him to be dropped next week is STUPID.

Wouldn't expect any changes at all maybe Riewoldt out for Polak.

The Ruck could be an issue with Patto having to play against one of Jolly/Everitt.

With Richo playing up the ground more, I'd like to see Schulz played at FF. Yes, I know he has had plenty of opportunity to make a name as a FF, but with Richo further up the ground he could do well. Riewoldt is struggling so if one of Morton/Connors/Collins do well enough I'd like to see one of them in for Riewoldt and Schulz at FF.

OUT:

Hyde - i think hes played 2 average games and if we want a tagger i think jackson is better

Schulz - he played a shit game, im suprized no one mentioned the fact that when the ball came near his opponent the usually always got the mark ect. i might be wrong coz i went to the game and was up the top, but from what i saw had a crap game

Far from it. Schulz had a good game. :thumbsu:

Riewoldt: Hasn't really done anything up foward. Maybe just needs to find more ball at Coburg.

Ins:
Tivendale/Polo: The good ol' Tivdendale-for-Hyde swap might me on. Tivendale had another 30 touch 5 goal game for Coburg today. How much longer can Terry ignore him? Although he is not the future I think he is a justifiable includsion. If not Polo, a like for a like

Polak: Kicked 4 for Coburg today, but I wouldn't be suprised if he gets the Bowden-Pettifer treatment and stays there for a couple more weeks.

Polo/Conners: If Jake King is injured

Meyer dominated Burgers 2nds today and hopefully he can get to the AFL before the end of the season to see what hes got

I was thinking the same.....but I think I must just have it in for him....cause everyone seems to give him wraps:confused:

I can only ever see him being a Razor type...someone you hope can smash packs, stray elbows here and there, never be given kicking out duty and hopefully not ever get matched up on anyone with any genuine speed.

I believe he will be in the trade bait group with Pettifer and we will need to give up a pick or upgrade a pick.

But without wanting to hijack the thread, changes for next week..

Out: Bowden, Schulz
In: Polak, McGuane

No change at this point. Polak and Tivendale and McGuane might want a game, but Tivendale will struggle whilst White is in good form. The other 2 are left out for match up purposes. I guess Hyde is the most vulnerable, but no need to make changes for the sake of it.

Does/Should Tivendale get a game this week, noticed in an article in the HUN today he was called a "List Clogger", basically a player just sitting on a teams list with no great prospect of enhancing their team's chance of winning a flag.

I personally think this is true and he shouldn't come in regardless of his amazing form at VFL, the only problem I have is that you can't really ignore great form also, on one hand we know he won't win us a game of footy off his boot anymore, but he could very well play a good game for us, its either that or elevate a Connors, Collins, another young kid for a go.
