Actually one thing that hasn't been mentioned is how Naita and Lynch will cope with Hudson and Minson. Hudson's an animal and will take to Naita as did Jamar, Brogan/Lade etc. I know umpires have been put on notice aout looking at the scragging going on at ruck contests but I just think Hudson in particulary is going to take every opportunity to smash Naita and tbh Lynchy doesn't really have the height to compete with him consistently.

What tactics? Third man up at contests to give us some chance at winning our share of hitouts?

Im pretty sure that Wilkes went to Riewoldt and actually curtailed his influence on the game after Spangher had been pantsed.

So we ask that South settle Wilson in a position. He plays well enough in that position to be elevated and then selected. He shows some good things in that position in his first game. We win. We then unsettle him by throwing him back?

Can I ask who in the Dogs front half is a better match up for Wilson than Wilkes?

Well Woosh is always trying to turn midfielders into defenders, why not a KPP forward?

Agree about that, was mostly responding to the fact that Eagle basically said Wilkes was responsible for Riewoldt kicking 5 goals when it was Spangher and McKenzie who got the goals kicked on them and Wilkes was the bloke who actually did the job on Riewoldt. I remember that game distincly and Spangher was lucky not to have more kicked on him as Rie moved very well in the first and marked strongly. If he converted Spangher would of been moved off much earlier.

I hope that the umpires get on it and give Naita a few soft frees this time rather then let him get bashed. Could be a catalyst to give us some confidence if we get a goal or two from the Bullies trying to use that tactic. Lynch's job is to wrestle the hell out of the opp ruckman so they tire when they face Naita (and because its the only way he wins taps lol) but both there ruckman are pretty strong I dont know if it will work.

I think your right, Lynch to hopefully tire them out and also hope for a few free kicks to Naita.

I dont believe any one actually hates the lad they just dont rate him as some others may. That aside I think we all genuinely hope he does the job that he is given and we give a good account of ourselves.

I don't see why people don't rate him.

Wilkes rarely lost his one on one battles and was very solid. Much better than Mackenzie last year and although Macca started the year well has faded a fair bit since his Sydney game.

Spangher isn't even worth mentioning because he is very weak defensively and although I like his attacking nature, you don't want him lining up on a forward you want to stop.

He was out of his depth last year. Wasn't great, but showed some signs.

I remember suggesting McKinley come into last weeks team and the comment received some hate, along the lines of "how has his form in the last 2 weeks warranted a recall?". I felt he had been sent a message by getting dropped, and the way he responded when coming back to the AFL could determine his future. He has the talent to do what he did and performed under pressure.

I think Wilkes at least deserves the chance to do the same. A selection so late in the year, to me, means he is being given 1-2 weeks to show if he is worth keeping. If he goes alright, we keep him. If not, I'm afraid he will be done with.

Spangher and McKenzie are injured, it's pretty clear thats the only reason that Wilkes is playing. We dont need another tall anyway, Brown will be in the backline anyway so i beg the question whats the god damn point of playing.
