Yeah I thought Clancey had done enough to get another gig. He's a deceptively good kick. Looks awkward but it goes where he wants it to go, generally with a nice low trajectory too. McPharlin has form as a forward at the G against Melbourne so maybe that's what they are counting on. Not that they were competing for the same spot anyway.

Can't believe Peake is in the team over Walters and especially Pearce, who's hardly done a thing wrong. I don't agree with McPharlin coming straight in after injury and taking the place of guys who are playing well (especially given their age), when his form before his injury wasn't good enough to cement his spot in the side. A poor change really.

Peake is playing for his career these next few weeks. I reckon he's in because Harvs wants to see if he offers any more than a chook with its head cut off. Clancee will be good to go for the next 10 years. :thumbsu:

It be nice to see good form rewarded and VB, Pearce playing as bad form eg McPharlap (unless played back) should not be.

But I think IP is correct here, see who is worth persevering with and who is part of the 20%.

You also need some dead wood to depth fill and to delist next year, you dont want to be looking at the Hinkleys and the Bucovaz's so soon necessarily. Better to have the Peakes, Dodds, Rash etc in the gun sights plus the retirements of Grover and perhaps Hase.

to be honest, my thoughts are, that harvey is desperate to win this game, and while pearce has been good, and will be for a number of years, there is no doubt we are a better chance to win with mcpharlin and peake in the side than pearce and walters, i think mcpharlin was just starting to get back into form before he got injured.

Pearce could be considered unlucky, but i dont think it will hurt him to dominate the wafl in the next couple of weeks and maybe come back in the last week against geelong. Walters hasnt done anything all year to warrant a game i dont think, his first game was because we had nobody else to play, he was dropped and since then he hasnt been dominating games, he didnt really do much when in the side. I think drum and peake would have been told, that there time is up if they dont perform in the last couple of weeks, play well or find somewhere else to play, which i think is good. gilmore and head arent even being given a chance, i think they would have been pulled aside and told that its over which is sad, but lets face it, fair

This is a fair call all round. I agree about Walters. He's shown enough to indicate he's going to get a good look and run over the next year or so but hasn't really lit it up IMHO. If Drum is clearly being given a last harrah, and lets face it against a half asleep Port and the hopeless Melbourne he better do something or thats it, Pearce is probably the next one on the list that is going to make room.

yep, i rate walters i really do, but as we speak he is one of, if not the youngest players in the AFL, he is slightly built, he will become a regular player one day i think, but i would expect that not to be untill 2011, if our injuries hadnt been so bad and our DA brigade so deplorable he wouldnt have even got a look in this year

whilst I agree with some of the above I'd still rather Walters with the ball in his hand than Peake.

yep, i completely agree with that, but i think his biggest problem is that he ahsnt been getting the ball at senior level, and to be honest not really that much in the wafl either. some players perform better when thrown in teh deep end (see deboer) but i dont think walters is one of these players. peake scores the occassional goal, and when on song can be damaging, but we already know this... the way i see it the more we play him at the end of this year, the more chance we might get lucky and be able to trade him ;), if he doesnt perform, he will be delisted, and walters will be gaining valuable experience/gametime for swans
