That's actually a very good side. Their going to be hard to beat.

Well as good as we can field with the injuries to Rooke, Corey and Ottens, yes.

Has your team been named yet?

No mucking around with our selection now.

NO BARHAM, NO LEIGH BROWN.

Only pick players who are capable of playing under extreme pressure against the best team there is.

Should have the pies team soon hopefully.

Suprise that JA was Dropped for Wellingham must be attacking them with small players and speed

No Presti and no Medhurst. Teams are probably missing the same amount of quality, though I think our lack of Presti may hurt more. Still, that side is good enough to win, go Pies!!

I like the team:D:thumbsu:, would have preferred MaCaffer for Anthony, but I think MaCaffer's great 3rd quarter last week saved him.

Anthony didn't do a lot last week, so he will have to go back to the VFL (next week) and perform to get back in.

Strong emergencies too, any one of them could come in late and play a specific role.

Still can't understand why Presti isn't playing though, they have 3 talls up forward, we have only 2 tall defenders.

This is what we get back though;

Wellingham, who has missed the last two contests with a calf injury, is enjoying a breakout year in his fourth season at the club averaging career-high numbers in disposals (23.7), marks (4.3) and tackles (4.2).
:D:D

I said all week if Wellingham plays we win, I'm not changing my mind now.

Why no Presti? From an outsiders view, I would have thought he was a certainty to come in.

Hopefully your young defenders are up to the Pods challenge.

Anyway, Wellingham is a good in and that's a very strong side. Should be a good contest.

Very good inclusion, however I thought we could have used Jack, especially with Medders out.

Also, not including another key defender is perhaps a worry. Hawkins, Mooney and Pods are three talls and all we have is Brown and Reid. It's almost certain that Maxy is going to have to play on one of them for mine- most likely Hawkins who is the least dangerous one.

Wellingham in for jack is a good change because we need speed in the team to beat the cats. I think Mick wants Presti to have a long rest and be fresh for the second half of the year so he doesnt run out of gas come finals time. I am glad we are going with 2 key deffender, brown on mooney and reid on podsiadly and i liked the idea Carlton had against Geelong where they put a medium sized running deffender of Hawkins and it worked. I like the team named and i think we are a huge chance of beating them, GO PIES!

i wonder who is going to fill that "pressure forward" role vacated by Anthony (who initially came in for Medders).. wouldn't mind seeing the Caff there.. but that won't happen... do we rotate an extra midfielder in our forward 50?

They may be planning to run off Hawkins when forward ala Walker for the Blues. In that case you have Brown for Pods and Reid for Mooney, Wood vs Hawkins in second ruck, Jolly vs Blake.

Down back you have Scarlett and Taylor vs Dawes and Cloke, so Lonegan will have a mismatch, as will Hunt to some extent... actually I think it makes a lot of sense to go smaller in the forwardline against them, Wellers can rotate forward, and in the midfield he allows Dids and Davis more time forward.

We want to get games into Reid and Brown, and we are doing it, I for one am happy to have Presti in reserve.

Also shattered about no Presti for seemingly no reason? On the other hand, a massive tick, and a massive showing of faith from the match commitee to the kids, in Brown, Reid, McCaffer et al. If they pass this test, may be hard for the older boys in the magoos to get back in at all this year, barring injury or a sudden dip in form.
