I personally beleive that Ted Richards is doing the correct thing in saying that he wants to be traded. He is an extremely underrated footballer and why a man like Kevin Sheedy is not giving him more of a go just bamboozles me. He works his backside off all year round, has a very determined and gritty attitude that typifies a 'never say die' mentality and is a brilliant size for a KP. 194cm and 90 odd kilograms, why isnt he getting a crack at windy hill? He has been badly stitched up a few times which has really hurt his reputation, ie; when Jon Brown bagged 8 on him in his return game this year. If i was Ted Richards i wouldnt worry too much about that, Brown is going to kick plenty of bags of 8 on plenty of opponents during his career!

If he gets traded to the Bulldogs, he will be an instant hit. The Dogs need a tall, marking and leading forward that can be used in defence also. Richards is just that. His young, his agile, his versatile and his fit. He will work very well at the Dogs and just needs someone to really give him a crack. He would go well with Paul Roos as well. He may need to pack on some beef, but has already shown he can play football and just needs someone to beleive in him.

according to adam white off sport 927 a dozen clubs have shown interest in him and 3 are genuinely interested so he must have a bit of talent.

would make an excellent defender rather than a forward imo.

I think people are getting way too excited. Richards is not under rated. Wen he first arrived, he appeared to have alot of potentiol. i would have paid alot in his first 1-2 seasons, but after watching him more closely the last 2 seasons he wont be a great player. Servicable but not great. He simply can not mark well enough for a bloke his size, and for what alot of clubs would like him for. His biggest plus is his ability below his knees for a big boy, and he can cover some ground. But they aren't characteristics of a KPP. 3rd tall on a HFF is Ted Richards best position. 2nd round pick is probably a fair compensation.

Cant mark? you obviously havent seen him play that would be one of his strengths.

Nothing wrong with his marking mate , he can take a grab. His disposal can be erratic but as a rule its ok and he is dual sided. As you said he's a good honest footballer who'll do a job. Anybody who thinks he'll be a star or thinks he is a dud is delusional.

Id take a late second rounder or third round pick for him.

His kicking for gaol though is pretty good. And hes very good on a lead.

I think this is the best move by Richards, even if its not good for EFC. He would do very well at the doggies, but if I was him I'd be trying to avoid the Swans.

He wants a team that needs a forward, with good delivery, where he can use his leading and ability to mark on a lead to full effect.

Geelong, WCE and the Bulldogs would be his best bets.

i woundt mind him...and i saw in the realfooty website that bolton being traded

id prefere bolton but i wouldnt sneeze at richards

both handy players IMHO

He wants a team that needs a forward, with good delivery,

idealy we would want a foward so we can realese bradshaw to the backline (most fans think hes a better backman)

I wouldn't mind Teddy at all St-Kilda. But with this supposive Watts deal, we're probably going to be trading our First round pick, so I wouldn't be to happy about trading anymore picks for Richards.

The Bombers are asking for a 2nd or 3rd round pick yeah?

Sounds like we're asking for a late 1st round pick.

Would be thrilled to get it, although I think history will say we were dudded.

Well if Bolton, Richards and (fingers crossed) Henneman all find themselves gone, I really hope we pick up some half-decent tall timber somewhere along the lines...

nah he's a better forward, has been played mostly up back by sheeds and played most of his juniors in the forward line.
