Gentlemen...this is the pick that defines this game. The steal of the whole draft IMO. A travesty that he only played 4 test matches, but he still goes down as a great of the game. Don Bradman thought so, including him in his Team of the Century. With an average of 70+, I present to you...

9. Michael Holding

I honestly think this team ended up being a lot better than I expected it to. The attack has already been voted one of (if not the) best in the competition, and any team with that top 6 will amass some huge scores.

Gonna bring in some sheer pace to shatter you line-ups. This will change the attack debate...

Couldn't believe he went untaken in the 70s, even more so when he slid to me in the unpicked round!
I had the 2nd pick in the 70s and for a long time had him as my pick if Viv went (screw u again BoshtrichBurger) at the last minute went Lillee as thought would be good to have a leading bowler and batsman.

Was quietly hoping he would slide but was pretty sure yourself or Danger in Texas would be all over him missing out in the 70's

I could swear someone already picked him

thorne89 lacks a frontline spinner. :)

I wanted batting depth, and Vettori is a fine spinner to play behind such a fearsome pace quartet. Barry Richards was also a handy off spinner, provides some back up.

In either case, my home ground of Lilac Hill shall be a seamers paradise!

I've been sold short.

Woolley is one of Englands greatest ever all-rounders, could certainly handle the ball.

He scored more first class runs than anyone but Sir Jack Hobbs, and took over 2,000 wickets at an average of under 20.

I had him penciled in at #1 in the left overs, but Marklar took Sangakarra and meant I had to take a keeper.

I had him penciled in for about 4 rounds as my opening combo with Ponsford.

Jeebus Gawd, imagine coming out to open against that. I imagine Holding and Snow would get the newie and then you'd get to "look forward" to McGrath & Hadlee bowling Clockwork dot balls from either end.
