Geez, I was worried when I saw OzBomber as the op!
A two Test series, between these two sides, is a disgrace![]()
It's definitely a disgrace, but I wonder how much of it has to do with the fact that neither South Africa nor Australia want to tour at the height of their respective summers? Cricket Australia wouldn't want to forego the Boxing Day revenue but in order to stage a five test series against South Africa in South Africa, Australia would have to tour in December-January.
Ashes should, and will be, 5 Tests.I couldn't care less if there is never another 5-Test series between any 2 nations. Leave it to 2, 3 and 4-Test series. We could have easily played 3 against South Africa. We can't be playing 5-Test series if we are supposed to play every nation twice within a 4-5 year period.
I don't necessarily agree or disagree. But we've even had 6-Test Ashes series, and that's just bullshit. If I had to choose betweenAshes should, and will be, 5 Tests.
2 is dumb, so is 4.Two test series just makes no sense. Needs to be at least three. Whats the point?
In fairness the test series against South Africa isn't finished yet we just have to wait till the Ashes to decide the winner.
What about draws?I am also a fan of uneven number of tests, seriously two? there was only 2 different outcomes possible , either 2-0 or 1-1..
