Also can't help but think of the goal that I thought would be 'that goal' by Buddy in 2011 prelim against Pies only for Luke Ball to kick that goal shortly afterward!!

Thought we'd blown it. Stringer drops a sitter. Boyd has important touch and Smith ices it. Great finish.

Geez Devon Smith makes that kick look easy.

For me as an Eagles supporter it has to be Peter Matera in the 1992 Grand Final.

Matera...sets sail for home... and the Eagles hit the front.

Gee I miss his pace and foot skills.

From a Carlton perspective; This one went alright.

This is THAT GOAL for me from a Carlton perspective. Was at the ground on the same wing as the run that day and the crowd just went ape shit after he kicked it - kidding right, checkside kick from the 50m boundary line after having just dragged off speedster Peter Matera in his hey day.

You're welcome everyone.

Was one of the all-time travesties that Drew Banfield bested The People's Mullet in the quarter-finals of the No. 1 number one pick vote on the AFL website.

Banfield YouTube highlight packages: 0. Banfield 7-goal, 3-vote performances to spark a one-point Western Derby win from 42 points down: 0.

The prosecution rests, your honour.

For me, opposition goals against my team are far more memorable, particularly if they are a "dagger in the heart" which undeservedly beats us, particularly the arsey goals that would never be repeated.:

1. Malceski in last quarter of the 2012 Grand Final;
2. Luke Ball in last quarter of the 2011 Prelim Final;
3. Hawkins in Round 19 of 2012.

Kicked them out of their bottoms.

Malceski pulled two straight from his rectum in that GF :mad:

Yes, great goal given it ultimately won the match...

...but for the neutral supporter, Buddy's was better (higher degree of difficuty). I also like Dennis' call:

Had never been able to bring myself to watch this until now.

Never realised that Mick bubbled over with that much emotion.

After 3 straight flags that loss is still very hard to swallow. Amazing how no matter what success a club has that there are certain games in the past you just can't accept you lost.

Nick Davis vs Geelong is THE goal of the modern era for me. It'll be the one I remember above all others, possibly a bit flukey but he was playing the quarter of his life and it literally diverted the whole course of the season. As good as Chapman's and Aka's sealers were, both Geelong and Brisbane still probably win the flag. Davis's goal turned Sydney from being knocked out of finals (last kick of the game?) to breaking a massive premiership drought.
Yes, the only thing that clouds that goal being called That Goal is that there were three other Nick Davis That Goals in that final quarter.

Most of mine have all been nominated. Ablett against Collingwood, Blight after the siren, Nick Davis, Franklin on the run, Malcieski (grrr)

One's I'd add:

(although I reckon I went more berserk when he kicked his dribbler in the 2015 GF

There main ones for me:

Carey's snap
Nick Davis
Pluggers record breaker
Blights torp
Mick McGuane
Michael Long 1993

Hon mention: Chapman's grand final winner, Akers twin boundary line goals and Pluggers point after the siren in the 96' prelim (not a goal obviously, but just as memorable)

Either Nick Davis, Malceski snap in 2012 GF or Pluggers 1300th for mine. Can't split them.

On another related note, "That Point" is a fairly obvious one, especially for a Swans fan.
"That Point" will be 50 years ago this year. Pluggers was great but nothing will ever beat Barry Breen for "that point"
