Well, I've just copped a pasting from Saints fans for telling them that they have no right to demand a fixture re-scheduling midway through a season, so I suppose it would be pretty hypocritical of me to say that Ess v Melb should be moved to the 'G'...

They're a bunch of 'special' people aren't they, those Saints fans? Most obnoxious and petulant display consistently throughout the last few days since McEnroe met Cartman, like I said on Bay 13! And not even in a fun, comical sense that would be enjoyable to the observer..

Evening Demon supporters,

i'm sure you'd like to join me in "bitching" about Essendon vs. Melbourne not being played at the MCG this year. Feel free to pressure your club to petition the AFL (and Essendon) to move it from Docklands to the home of football.

Collectively, demons/dons make up 40% of the MCC supporter base. Should rightfully be played at the 'G

Rnd 12: Split round (second weekend) ... other 2 matches being played are both interstate.

regards

Tell your story walking champ this is something you should be writing to your club. They moved their home ground to the dome so it shouldn't be much of a suprise that that is where you play your home games..

Sack Bailey!!

He has got to go. Firstly he was not playing the kids for the first 12 rounds of this year and trying to rebuild the club. He was trying to get a win or two under his sleeve to be hopeful he would get resigned.

However, only now after 11 and 12 rounds of pure sh!tness does he start playing some rookies i.e. Jurrah and Watts. I admitt Watts shouldn't be out there because he is scared little girl like Cale Morton but he has got to get some games under his belt.

Bailey should be purely focussed on playing the rookies and kids and getting games into them i.e. Valenti, Bail, Jurrah, Cheney!! (why does he keep getting dropped??), Maric, Martin, Buckley, Blease and Strauss.

Wake up BAILEY!! Players like Bell (got recalled for one game), Johnson (he doesn't play defensive footy ever), Jamar, Roberston, Newton, McDonald (yep you heard me), and Whelean have to go!! Stop playing them. It is doing nothing for the club. You aren't rebuilding with them and they are not providing anything out there on the field i.e. Leadership or anything.

If anyone cares to look at the list we have so many guys aged 21 and 22 i.e. Bartram, Frawley, Bate, Buckley, Cheney, Dunn, Garland, Grimes, Jurrah, Jones, Martin, Maric, Pettard, Morton, Newton, Strauss, and Wonaeamirri.

Out of that list its only Jones and Morton who are actually making an impact on our list. And the other people doign well is Garland (last year) and Grimes (this year).

The rest are complete duds with Cheney and Strauss as limited opportutnies.

Point being 21 - 24 is the peak of a footballer these days, and these players are in their peak and performing nothing like nothing that we should build a club on.

What's happening fellas?

Just checked the score. WTF is happening?

Well, it wasn't all that pretty on the field tonight Power - but hopefully the next match will provide a better indicator of where we're at, and our performance will more closely match the standard of competitiveness we set earlier in the season.

G-A-W-N...GAWN at seasons end!

These are the players that need to go if we are to get serious. We are supposed to be rebuilding. IMO we are going backwards from last year! Our young players have weak bodies and consistently get pushed off the ball and out of the contest by players with just the same amount of experience as them...perfect example was last night V the Lions!

McLean > 2nd round pick
Miller > Delist
Johnson > Delist
Dunn > Delist
Petterd > Delist
Bell > Delist
Moloney > Delist
McDonald > Retired
Robertson > Retired
Newton > Delist
Wheatley > 3rd round draft pick
Jetta > Casey for a season
Valenti > Delist
Whelan > Retired

Re: G-A-W-N...GAWN at seasons end!

Delist Moloney and trade McLean? Are you high?

You've listed 14 players there, I can agree with the players retiring but you've lost your mind on the rest.

Are you hoping we somehow have 14 picks in the draft?

At least give Dunn, Bell and Newton games for Melbourne to see if they are worth it, I believe Newton and Dunn should be persisted with, I use to think Bell was worth it but ever since he was smashed by Ben Johnson his career has gone down the crapper.

McDonald - Retire
Whelan - Retire
Robertson - Probably retire
Wheatley - Trade/delist
Bell - Trade/delist
PJ - Trade (Probably my hatred talking)

That frees up six spots, probably need one or two more, but Newton and Dunn are worth persisting with for at least another year IMO. Petterd is capable of playing some very good football off the back flank, he should take Morton's spot as the sweeper in the backline and allow Morton to play that attacking wing type role.

Re: G-A-W-N...GAWN at seasons end!

McLean > 2nd round pick - No we need players in his age group. Was seen as the next captain a year ago. We can't just get rid of him.
Miller > Delist No - Keep him. Watts is not ready to play KP yet and Robbo is getting on.
Johnson > Delist - Maybe although not convinced on Meesen or Spencer yet.
Dunn > Delist - Yes
Petterd > Delist - No - He is still young and has been playing some good footy at Casey. Skillful, don't write him off.
Bell > Delist Yes
Moloney > Delist No way. He is a hard at it midfielder. Was top three in the best and fairest not long ago. Is coming back from injury and is playing okay footy.
McDonald > Retired Yes
Robertson > Retired Yes
Newton > Delist I would like to see him given another year. i know he hasn't done anything to warrant it but he shows promise.
Wheatley > 3rd round draft pick Would probably keep as a depth player if Whelan retires. If not, delist.
Jetta > Casey for a season Has had a couple of good performances at Casey but has struggled at AFL. If he plays well at Casey then play him in the seniors.
Valenti > Delist He is a rookie. Would not promote him though.
Whelan > Retired Yes

McLean > 2nd round pick - No

Johnson > Delist - No

Moloney > Delist - No
McDonald > Retired - Yes

Newton > Delist - Play him for the remainder of the year doesn't perform - Yes
Wheatley > 3rd round draft pick - Yes but we wont get anything for him so delist him

I would not accept anything less than a 1st round pick for Brock.
Surely Miller has some trade value.
Johnson has been good in patches, I think we should hold on to him.
Agree on Dunn.
Petterd needs more time, ridiculous suggestion to delist him.
I agree on Bell, which is unfortunate, as I think he has the ability.
Ridiculous call in relation to Moloney. Even if we did want to get rid of him, he has good trade value.
Agree on McDonald and Robertson.
I think Newton has another year left on his deal, so this probably won't happen.
Agree on Wheatley, although I'm not sure how many takers there will be.
I wouldn't relegate Jetta to a full season in the reserves just yet, I wouldn't be so presumptuous.
It's hard on Valenti, but I don't see a future for him at the MFC
Agree on Whelan.

In sum, your list is a bit of a mixed bag, but a good effort nonetheless.

Re: G-A-W-N...GAWN at seasons end!

Miller > Delist
Dunn > Delist
Bell > Delist
McDonald > Retired
Robertson > Retired
Wheatley > Delist (No-one is stupid enough to trade for Wheatley... maybe Fremantle...)
Valenti > Delist
Whelan > Retired

Agree with all those. That will leave us with another 7 picks in the draft, and one in the rookie draft.

NOVEMBER DRAFT:
Picks 1,2,18,34,50,66

PSD:
Pick 1

Rookie:
Pick 1

Retire
Robertson
Wheatley
Whelan
McDonald

Delist (Yet give chance to prove themselves)
Bell
Newton

Survive due lack of other positional options
Johnson
Miller

Trade
McLean - 2nd Rounder
Jones - 2nd Rounder

*Bartram and Petterd skating on thin ice yet worth persisting with.

Dees picked the wrong guy

Yep Dees needed a player who could make an impact now with the team, so we don't kick 2 goals in 3 qtrs.

Not pick someone who has played basketball most of his career and might be good at footy in 4 years.

Far out Melbourne!!

By the way just to let you all know again Bailey isn't the man for the job!! Just look at his coaching moves last night!!
