Totally flawed argument. Apart from Brisbane, Essendon and Freo, all other clubs have beaten top 8 teams.
Mate seriously get with the program how many teams have beaten Geel, WC, GWS and but for bad luck would have beaten WB

Not sure I can wait for another 3 years and also we are not in a position to get all those first rounders that Melbourne have recruited. It's not hatred, nobody hates Bucks. We just disagree on whether he is the right man to take us forward and frustration spills over after games like this weekend's one.
IMO to be retaining Buckley instead of doing everything we can to convince a gun coach like Paul Roos to coach us is absolutely bizarre.
Isn't the eternal objective to make every possible move in order to strengthen our club ?
No but I was after the Melbourne x2, Power, Sydney, Carlton, (first) West Coast, North, Richmond, St Kilda games.
I said your posts had a bit of it which I think is fair. Each to their own indeed.I can be abrasive, snide and condescending with my replies at times. I can admit that. One thing I haven't done however - despite some of the ridiculous posts I have read - is call another poster the C bomb (we all know what "campaigner" means). But each to their own I guess.

Indeed that's what happens. You can't sack 40 players. It's the coach who gets the arse when the results are not up to scratch. That's the way it is.
Roos is not available all the same.Sacking Bucks doesn't bring Roos closer I would have thought and only undermines our own position rather then strengthen it.
Exactly. When the existing coach gets rid of the players , he is destroying the club. We can't have that. So you get a new coach who then sacks the players but he can call it a rebuild and everyone is happy again.Indeed that's what happens.
One way or another
Don't think I would credit him for the Women's AFL team. Think it was a given.
Partial 'like' as not in agreement with your stance on the Netball teamBenefit of the doubt. Someone did work behind the scenes and it doesn't seem right for me to dump on him for the Netball team and not pump up the FAFL team. Otherwise he hasn't brought many positives to the club over the past 18 momths.

Collingwood 2016- 8 Wins 11 Losses. So Bucks only makes sick part of the time - good to hear
It's fair to say coaches have their own strengths and weaknesses. FWIW I didn't think MM was a great game day technician (in fact I think his coaching cost us the 2011 GF). However, there is little doubt MM assumed the 'father-figure' role and was able to get the best out of players with limited ability. We played in 2 GF against the mighty Lions with a team that was very limited. Malthouse also brought guys into the club who performed their roles very well. So is that motivation? I'm not sure, but obviously the role of the coach is to take the time to know their players and what works for each one. I think our guys played for MM because they liked him and were eager to please him
WC at MCG is a totally different team. No way top 8 calibre. Geelong and GWS wins were great. I don't know we would beat them if we played next week though. Both teams obviously took us lightly and we have always had the wood on both.
We beat these teams last year. To base improvement on beating them again is very narrow minded. We were compressively beaten by Melbourne twice and St Kilda who had Riewoldt and McCartin out for half the game. We looked so far behind both teams.
Carlton beat us the first time and we scraped through the second time.
Sydney destroyed us. Port destroyed us. WC destroyed us in Perth. Adelaide just too good and North completely outplayed us. Richmond with all their issues beat us (probably should have been twice). I can't see how you can hang your hat on 3 wins against top 8 teams as suggesting we are heading in the right direction.
To win we need absolutely everything to go right for us - midfield need to win out of the centre, forward line needs to be on fire, and defense needs to be solid.
I understand inconsistencies with this team, but seriously, to discount the games you should be expected to win is not right. And it's not even just about losing these games, it's about how poor we have been during these matches.
And Doggies has their own injury concerns when we played them.
We have got a good midfield. When they are on they are pretty hard to stop. They have shown they can dominate clearances. So we will win games on the back of that. But we also get smashed there as well. The midfield has been fairly stable all year in terms of injury with Adams really the only one (and he has been spending as much time at half back). They should be winning a lot more than they have.
Yes all true.I have been watching a fair bit of them Olympics and have been interested in the responses when interviewed on their performance. Interesting when the word 'improvement' comes up, the response is to do with the individual in so far as focus and improvement, coaching comes in when they consider what technical aspects they need to look at. Which pretty much in my opinion is the coaches roles. Do that part right and it is up to the individual to perform.
We have performed exceptionally - GWS, WB and GEEL are far stronger this year and while WC have been inconsistent they will play finals.
We still play a 22 round season and a side must be judged over it's entirety otherwise you're just using selective data and reasoning as you so clearly are doing. We have performed exceptionally - GWS, WB and GEEL are far stronger this year and while WC have been inconsistent they will play finals.
So you can try as you might to diminish these results but its clearly ill convinced and poor logic - its laughable to compare GWS and GEEL in 2015 with 2016
We have closed the gaps against the top teams this year compared to last - that is a fact, and given its a benchmark most teams use, then its clearly an example of progress.
PS: your bias is obvious when you excuse WB for injuries when you are not prepared to do the same for us for many of the poor performance you listed.
Why not both?WE NEED DEW OR RATTEN
Doubt either wpuld want to be a senior assistant when both are senior coaches in waitingWhy not both?
We should try get Dew as coach and Ratten as senior assistant imoDoubt either wpuld want to be a senior assistant when both are senior coaches in waiting
How much $$$ to throw at Ratten to get him to go for thatWe should try get Dew as coach and Ratten as senior assistant imo
Blank cheque from Eddie would do it I reckonHow much $$$ to throw at Ratten to get him to go for that
Lol. The season has been a disgrace, again. 25,000 members seem to agree.............. but hey keep up the spin, the brain dead will believe you the more you say it.
Its farcical that a couple of good wins and all of a sudden Buckley can coach. Lets just forget all about losses to basket case teams, his inability to motivate players, atrocious gameplan, questionable team selections and recruiting etc etc etc.
We still play a 22 round season and a side must be judged over it's entirety otherwise you're just using selective data and reasoning as you so clearly are doing.
If we've made up ground against top 8 sides (which is marginal anyway) then it stands to reason if our total win/loss bottom line hasn't improved that we've lost ground against middle and lower rung teams (which the Melbourne, St Kilda,Port, Carlton and Richmond games indicate). That doesn't show improvement or development from us at all, instead it shows an absolute varying and fluctuation in form, effort and consistency depending on the opposition. There's nothing to hang our hats on about that.
The coach and club don't deserve credit for making up ground in one area while falling away in another because the net result is absolutely the same. No finals again and little to no improvement in ladder position or total wins/losses. The season has been another bust for Collingwood and Nathan Buckley.
