I have a feeling the 'review' will potentially state the following things:
....
OR
2) Review has created a big brand new position called Director of Football coaches or something that sounds important to encompass Netball, Mens Football and Womens football. Bucks is offered this important job so as to effectively 'look after him' rather than see him leave. Then the senior job becomes vacant and Bucks is involved in the recruitment of the new coach which will probably be Roosy or someone else?

These are just my thoughts and like most people I have no knowledge of what is going to happen, I am just speculating.

What I do know is you don't start 'organisational' reviews unless you know the outcome. No business will surrender the future of their organisation to a 'review' without knowing where it is going to finish.

How the hell could this work? It would be more impossible than the mooted Buckley / Malthouse handover. Clubs don't get rid of coaches and then find another role for them within that same club. Buckley is a big boy - should he not continue at Cwood he can find another job.

I don't disagree with you and it's a fair comment, but I tend to think the club will want to be seen to be looking after him. It is part of why appointing a favourite son, ex-captain, Copeland winner, Norm Smith and Brownlow winner is always more tricky to deal with when it doesn't work. Look at Hird and Essendon, Vossy etc. Always more divisive and emotional amongst the supporters. That's what we're seeing now.

If the coach was John Smith he probably would have been told by now, but it's my guess they want to remove him in a dignified manner (If they remove him)!

On one hand I think bucks has known since mid season and acted honourably for the greater good. On the other hand the look on McGuires face after the Adelaide loss makes it look like he just gave him a two year guarantee.

McGuire is indelibly linked to Buckley's coaching tenure.
the succession plan has become an albatross around McGuire's neck.
McGuire is torn between doing what he thinks is in the best interests of the Collingwood footy club or
trying to save his own legacy.
I'm thinking the same sadly

I've got another question, when do the Members & fans in general get 'OUR' club back?

Pretty sure any member can run a team against the current board and try to oust them any time.

If we make a coaching change then he'll buy himself more time and goodwill as I firmly believe the majority who feel strongly about this issue and direction of the club have lost patience with Buckley (and a few others) .

If we stick with Bucks and we fail to make finals again in 2018 then the coach must walk the plank and Ed should go down with ship as he made the Captains call to retain.
yep I think you're right.
I like and support ed and bucks but the carnival is nearly over, time has come to put up or move over.

He is never up for election if we can be brutally candid, if you know what I mean. And therein lies the problem.

In my humble opinion, notwithstanding he is not up for election, there is always a point in discussing his position as he, along with others, should always be held to account. And whilst it may nor result in immediate action, it may result in a mindset shift out there over time which may lead to appropriate change in time.

Pointless having an election if no-one is standing against him.

Overall a lot less - we are in the news far too often (I know we are Cwood) but of all the clubs we are the one that LEAST needs a President who works in the media
Has it taken you 18 years to come to this conclusion?

Not at all - I don't live my entire life inc the proportion devoted to Cwood on this thread
Think you may have missed my point.

Same old story though isn't it, he's in the news because Collingwood sells. All the other Presidents don't seem mute because they've got nothing to say, it's because nobody is door stopping them to ask.

Nice to be Adelaide - top of the ladder and does anyone in Melbourne know the name of their president without looking it up?

What's that got to do with being a good team?

Its our bugbear. We blame Eddie for being quoted. When he first came on board I was happy solely because he seemed media savvy, something Almac didn't leave me thinking. Now I am pissed at the pies being so much about spin. Never happy.

Wasn't suggesting any connection - two desirable factors may exist in an organisation without one being related in any way to the other
So why post it?
